Thats typical Sony move - make as many console versions as possible and made them more expensive - 4 different PSP's for example. But its still better offer than PSP Go - 249 $/€ :ugly:

I think Sony ships them 1 by 1 to europe from the USA. So they have to pay postage and VAT for every single one of the PS3's... that must be the reason its 128 dollars more!

No, of course not. But its fucking sad that nobody has the balls to actually change the pricing to reflect the rather stable conversion rate. The Euro has been above 1.30 dollar for quite a fucking while now. Its currently sitting at 1.43 or so.

In the UK it will be £249 which is a better price than the rest of Europe I must say. The one thing I don't understand is the logic in reducing the current 80gb fat PS3 to £249, I mean, surely it should be cheaper since it's fat and it has 40gb less HDD space.

Yeah but places like HMV and Game now bundle a few games with it for this price. Also Game are doing an offer where you get 50% off the slimline if you trade in your "beast". For a start you much have money to burn if you do this but also you should be able to pick up a 2nd hand "beast" pretty cheap when they have part ex's.

...and for my birthday today my fiancee has got me the PS3 slimlinne :4 very happy because I can only just about play TF2 on my PC as it's a laptop (not a gaming one) so this means I will be able to play Batman and Bioshock 2 and the next final fantasy...looking forward :mrgreen:
