Hehe, reckon I'd give it a shot even if they don't ;P Checking up on the first one, and it seems interesting as well. Can't find one of the Directors cut editions though. If I stumble on it I'll get it, but until then I got some Final Fantasy games to play through :] |

Played the first one and enjoyed it for a while but it got old real fast. Grind in a singleplayer game? I'll pass. |

Was it very drawn out with loads of repetitive battles and long time in between the interesting storybuilding parts? :( How was the characterbuilding part? Seems that your pretty much doomed to be a swordfighter with some magic tricks on the side, but if it's complex and if the story's good I can live with that, and even endure the grind ;P |

In retrospect I wouldn't buy it again tbh (I bought it as a fullprize title, though). Your character will look pretty much exactly the same for the whole game (and you cant customize him at the start iirc) which kinda sucks, there are loads of repetitive battles, the alchemy system was a (sadly necessary) gimmick, the magic attacks mostly lick a set of hairy balls and most of the NPC's have the same faces/voices (it's worse than oblivion in that regard...all regards, actually). Having said that, it's not all bad, the story is okay, you get to shag creepy chicks, it looks decent and is...well, it's okay. If you can pick it up cheap I'd say go for it, otherwise go for oblivion/buy an electric toothbrush or whatever instead. Oh yeah, there also is a fake moral choice system (good/evil) which sucks a fat nutsack. P.S.: The night/day cycle inhales a dick, if you have to be at location A at time B and it currently is C o clock, you gotta go find a place to sleep until it gets close to B o clock (keeping traveltime in mind), run back to location A, and if you're just a minute late you gotta repeat. What a shitload of fuck. P.P.S.: There are loading screens for e v e r y t h i n g. Enter a house? 30 second loading screen. Walk through a gate? 30 second loading screen. Accidentally click on the gate while trying to rotate the camera? 1 minute for 2 loading screens. Thinking about it, stay away from this pile of shaft-sucking crap. |
