Cannon fodder and Settlers 2 are the only things on the list that jump out at me.

I already have them both though.

Give in to temptation its what makes us human, we grow, we live, we travel, and eventually we become settlers too before becoming the inevitable cannon fodder to the passage of time.

See subliminal, yeah.

I could dig out my copy on DVD or I may have it via Steam, either way I'm sure I still have it some where... but can we not just play the orriginal UT? or even Unreal?

Either I'm too old or too retro.. neithers good I think.

Twas the golden age of gaming... not like it is now with all this modern technology, your per pixel shading, burst and HDR lighting, physics and fully mapped 3D hit boxes... Back then it was about skill, one man a keyboard and his mouse, when judging a shot was as much about timing your lag to the enemys, like the wind and momentum for a sniper. Back then anything seemed possible in the space of three years most of the defining series of our time were started and some of the best games ever released... Now the potential displayed in these games has gone, withered away, sold to feed the console generation and their primative attention spans or porned into the bleak life consuming behemoth MMORPG's an acronym so vulgar that the game betray its very definition... Oh those halcyon days when we spoke not only of the number of sprites and polys the machine could handle but of the fun the game could bring.. when it was enough to just run accross a meteor in space to capture a flag instead of crssly demanding vehicles in a blatent effort to steal Tribes core game play... when most games release were not FPS... when adventure game brought comedy, hell when adventure games were still made... when lucas arts released pilot based space games...

Oh hell.

You're right I'm too old :(

Damn Cardboard. You're getting me nostalgic for the first Unreal Tournament.

Bouncing 'The Ripper' blades off of the ground and decapitating people when they came back up, made me giggle like a school girl.

And it was the only school girl giggling I was hearing cause I was in my room playing this game all friggin day!

(I should point out, I was at school when this game was released. I wasn't pulling a Lim-Dul or anything)

Flack Cannon or sniper was my personal load out.. Ahhh good times.

Unreal and UT1 were amazing back in the day I was in japan when Unreal shipped got reaped online cuz those bastards can play and I was used to super slow internet speeds. I was back in the UK by the time UT shipped and was happy to be playing actually good games with healthy decent and proper lag, not like the lag you get now.

Just as a point, school girls are better when you get older, the illicit nature of the act adds a depth to the experiance that isn't there in youth. Either that or its the rohypnol.
