Some dude made a FPS and a HighQual Config.

link: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... p?t=879367

Feel free to test them out. I know I'll try the HighQual. :)

I am eager to try it out. Fiddling with it to tune it for my PC. Thanks for the hint :)

I'll try it out, he says he commented on most cvars, so hopefully that will let me customise it a bit :ugly:

Tried the high one. 101 steady fps at all times and the game looks great. Not the highest possible settings (I know there was a config that kneeled my system to 15fps) but not at all shabby either.

70 is fine, set your fps max to whatever your monitor refresh rate (Most likely 60/75) is and just adjust graphics so you don't get massive drops :ugly: Don't understand why he set fps_max 101, 61 would be suited to more people.

Have to work a bit on high fps config to gain like 10-20 fps without making the game look like quake2 8)

Steady 100 fps with quality settings, but after a short test game I had one short freeze and one time the weapon model bugged for a short time. And on the next try it crashed. :?

Disabling multicore support: Crash on joining a game.

Enabling multicore support: Looks like I can play except for some rare minor graphics bugs.

I tested the High config and tuned it a bit to fit with my PC. The conclusion? TF2 wrecks after map load. And i cba to check which settings wrecks the game so I will stick to my easy

mat_picmip -10
r_lod 0

Pretty and no problems :)

Played several maps without any large problems now (quality config with multicore ).

Sometimes I can see certain players shadows through walls. :ugly:

I wouldnt take a config from a Game Control-Player. Simply as a matter of principle.

m0re's config is the only config 8)

Talking about the high quality one?

I'm still using my custom m0re's high-fps config, didn't like that other guys one because it messed up my reload script, and seemed to give me less performance than m0re's.

I need it for my crappy system, i can hardly keep a stable 60 fps in a 12 player server :/

I prefer m0re's low to quantums low though

This might be useful for my computer at uni. The 4850 doesn't quite seem to be able to handle TF2, which is a fucking nuisance.

The 4850 should be able to, since my 3870 could, more likely it's your cpu :( But anyway, I would try out quantums and m0re's and see which one you like best.

I have all the settings on max, if that makes a difference? The CPU is a Q6600 oc'd to 3GHz I think. I thought something was wrong!

Dunno if all is on max... but quite high overall. CPU is dualcore 3GHz. I'd check my system to see what's going on if I were you. ;)
