A project I'm working on will need me to keep some client data on a memory stick.

Does anyone know the most secure kickass so holds barred forget the password and I'm screwed forever not even the that guy from wargames could hack it encryption software I could use with my 16gb Flash Voyager USB memory stick?

I've had a quick look a TrueCrypt but there something about using free software for something so critical that I'm nervous about.

Jedi, TrueCrypt it is.

Trust OpenSource!

TrueCrypt is widely being used by Security engineers around the planet. It's even used at governemental level (that is, if they encrypt at all ;).

You can savely use this tool, its one of the best and most powerfull you're going to find.

regarding encryption you should rather be suspicious about software where nobody knows what it does.
there were companies selling a simple XOR as kickass homebrew encryption method :ugly:

Cheers Saint. I gave it a go last night and managed to encrypt my memory stick really easily, only problem was I then forgot the password (mainly because I chose a long ass one like it told me to). Anyone I will format it and do it again later.

Ditch - I don't know what I'm doing half the time, so this could be ideal software.

McMoist - make me an offer.... or I can simply leave it on the train with the password on a sticky note next to it.

I like Keepass I only have to remember one insanely secure password that way.
