Probably because a lot of medics are ignoring demomen and just healing soldiers, although there are some the other way around.

I've noticed most medics go in favor of the soldier, but definitely not all~ Definitely because demomen are E-pushers
I'm all for the soldier beating the crap out of the demoman though :D

HA! I will continue to let demo-loving-medics die while camping out at medpacks, hurting myself~

Playing pyro nowadays is quite funny. Good time for rocket deflect training... and setting random people with flare gun to fire.

Playing medic sucks if you're the only one and also the direct target of that lonely enemy spy. :|

Soldiers ftw, its because average joe can't aim at all with pipebombs. Oh and everyone hates demomen.

it depends on what the new weapon is. compared to demomen, soldiers could be doing with a new weapon more than they, given that demomen could be considered more powerful in most contexts. but then, soldiers are also the most balanced class in the game, and upsetting that balance would be a shame. so it depends on what the weapon is, and what the implications it would have for each class.
