Kinda hopeless, but improving (112)
Came across THIS thread earlier today on the steamforums. Tried it myself and it worked :) Got my Direct Hit and Buff Banner when I logged on this evening.

So go get those toys that you're missing :D

I just used steam achievement manager to delete my milestone, when I got in game I earned it again along with my weapon, probably a faster way to do it.

that is a third party program right?
and doesnt that mean that you could earn the weapon again and again(by deleting the ach)

yeah, its third party, and I'm suprised so many people seem to be willing to use it since valves already took action against it at least once in the past

Though maybe they'll show a little leniency since people are basically just giving themselves the weapons they should already have.

Created a Steam Support Ticket at 13:00 o'clock today and got my Direct Hit at 18:00 o'clock. Thats one of the few times Steam Support doesnt dissapoint me.

Now that I have my Direct Hit, the next problem appears. Sometimes it just dissapears and u cant reequip it until u rejoin.
Happens to alot of others as well. :?

I sent in a support ticket 3-4 hours ago and got a reply about 45 minutes ago saying it was fixed.. but I still don't have the direct hit :'(

Don't get the Direct hit from milestone, can't craft the thing since for whatever reason 2 buffbanners and 2 gunboats don't count as 4 solly items, random drop system won't give it, and the best steam support can come up with is a generic auto reply which is of absolutely no use :x

Thankfully the old rocket launcher is still a damn good weapon, which is something i suppose :?

Yep got the same automatic answer. Direct hit works nice on crowded maps like Dustbowl or Goldrush and since all people are used to jumping a lot while shooting you score a lot of airborne minicrits.

We've got one more update to go out to our backend item system. After that, we'll be granting all the missing items that weren't granted properly when you finished achievements.
Which probably means we won't be seeing our items until tomorrow at the earliest, still at least thats better than the useless generic mass reply we got on steam support :roll:

Guys... have some patience!
It won't help at all of thousands of players spam Valve with support requests! It will only slow them down. There have been problems like this after every update and Valve always managed to fix them pretty quickly and automatically. There is no reason to send them a support request!

So you can't use the direct hit for one day? Booohoo!

I couldnt use it for a whole eternity :cry:
But in my case Steam Support helped me, although a new bug appeared...

Ok, mine eventually showed up, not sure if it was just the drop system throwing me a bone or if valve did whatever they were planning on doing, but either way i don't think I like the thing as much as the original, go figure :lol:
