Well after nearly three years of leaving de_dust 2 I thought I go back and see how things have changed. As it turns out quite alot.

1. I'm now totally crap. I used to get top 3 finishes 80% of the time now I couldn't hit a boomer at two inches.
2. Everyone is Russian. Seriously have those guys only just got Counterstrike?
3. Getting two kills in-a-row now triggers some rave music followed by some 10 year old quake voice. If you ain't got the rave plug-in you ain't wit it.
4. De_Dust 2 is the only surviving map and has reached biblical status amongst it followers. Indeed poeple now believe that Jesus himself used to preach from bomb site A.
5. There seem to be more people playing CS that TF2.
6. What know de_dust anymore ? wtf
7. M4a silienced is still as awesome as ever. Even if I can't hit shit its still the best gun ever.


I might go back even further into my past and try Counterstrike 1.6 (if I can find my old half life disks) and see what that like.

Haven't played CS in ages. Went back for about one hour some time ago on the german server I always used to play on. Back in the day it was really awesome, we all knew eachother and had a lot of fun together. Kinda like it is now here, except that here I can understand what the fuck people are going on about. On that server they were like "Zebas ich brachen zmachen mnachen fachen" and then I was like "?!" and gFK would be like "Haha Zebas Cr@sh said he love you hahaha" and then I would be all like "Hahaha!" in chat and all like "?!" in my head. So yeah, it was like really awesome.

Anyway, my point is that nobody I know still plays CSS and I now suck at it.

I also tried to get back to css some time ago, found a really awesome server with none of that quake-exploding-almost funny sounds and tons of really great custom maps ( http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/ ... 0.5:27015/ ) and it was really nice, altough getting back from Modern Warfare 2 back to cs:s/1.6 is a bit hard

Eh, I mostly just see French servers on de_dust2. Don't see how that could ruin the game for you though if you don't join those servers. Also you can avoid dling the sounds, think its cl_downloadfilter. de_dust is probably the most boring CS map there is which is why its pretty much dead. Personally I prefere the AK to the M4 since it does more damage, and its still pretty accurate if you shoot in bursts.
