My ping has been higher than usual lately but only in TF2, any settings which could be effecting this?

That is to NL, yet on NL TF2 servers I'm getting 80+ ping

An ICMP (ping) packet is replied on at hardware level, it never leaves the network chip. Game data at the other hand needs to be calculated and send back. It takes some time to complete that process, hence a bit extra latency.

After doing some diagnostics, this is only happening to clanhost.nl servers, which are usually excellent for me (~50 ping).

Post subject:  Re: Ping

Ok this is seriously weird, now my ping is back to 60ms on the clanhost server. Yesterday it happened the same way, somewhere around 9 it went down to normal.

I guess I should check with my ISP about this, they might be fucking me about :x

Proserve is doing some maintenance on their network infrastructure during this weekend. Booting core routers etc...

Hopefully it is just that, although weird how it only effects me :x

Got the smae prob as you mini, but quite the contrary. I'm usually 130 - 100 ms and rarely I could have 90 ms :p (but I confess that my modem could have some prob too ^^)

Edit : yeah my connection suxx :), find a solution soon, but still suxx to play with 120 ms ;)

2 things:

A) There is alot of maintenance in this month on alot of international connections. In januari businesses are the most quiet, so extra time goes into maintenance (normally i get around 1 or 2 notifications per month. This month alone i think i saw 20 maintenance announcements).

B) You live in the UK. Learn to live with a shitty connection.

I'm pretty sure it's the maintenance and not my connection. I didn't realize it was still going on.
