Ha, ha, ha! http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/02/17/you-maniacs/ http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... 0&site=pcg It's times like these when I want to stab video game business executives in the eye with a rusty fork. I mean, honestly - anyone buying the game instead of pirating it will have to be an utter moron, moral issues aside, since the pirated version will be 100 times more convenient to use. Oh, but surely the DRM will be unhackable? Right - for such a huge and anticipated release all the big cracking groups will have thousands of talented hackers working on circumventing the DRM even before the game is released - DRM has NEVER EVER truly stopped people who really don't want to buy a game from pirating it. Of course this will provide another argument for these retards-in-suits how piracy is leading to poor sales performance of PC games and how DRM heavy as this is required. FUCKING CUNTS! If you want DRM, fine - let people type in a CD Key ONCE upon installation or something and get it over with. This will stop undecided people from downloading illegal copies and provide a minimum amount of frustration for faithful customers. No DRM at all is certainly better than the kind of DRM Ubisoft concocted but on the other hand can lead to disasters like Demigod, a primarily multiplayer game, not working because of servers being flooded by illegal users - I'm all for light DRM but NOT THIS SHIT. P.S. If somebody tells me that he is buying ACII for the PC I'll chop his/her balls/tits off. I ACTIVELY encourage everybody to pirate the title - perhaps if the marketing dumbfucks see a MASSIVE drop in sales in response to their retarded DRM they will finally make the connection and realize that THEY, not the few hardcore software pirates, are responsible for poor sales and increasing piracy. Money and not boycott/whining groups is pretty much the only thing that can make these guys reconsider. -.- P.P.S. AFAIK review versions of the game arrived at the office, so I will have this piece of rotten ass confirmed in a matter of days... |

Nah, you won't be able to buy the game at all. You will have to travel to UbiSoft's HQ and buy pay-for-play tickets. ;-)Next year you're only allowed to play games when an official represent of the publisher is standing behind you. :ugly: The games can't even be resold as they are unless you want to lose access to your UbiSoft account. ROFLMAO. I had an Internet outage for like 5 minutes today - that would have been really cool if I were in the middle of a boss fight. It's like making a built-in deliberate crash system. Now your game can crash for reasons that wouldn't have affected it otherwise! Woohoo! Let's make playing in darkness obligatory for horror games - cause that's the atmosphere the designers intended. The moment you turn on the lights the game crashes. :-P |

They may as well give up on selling pc games if it makes trying to play it so hard. I for one am buying more and more games on PS3 now - something I have never really done before. It will end up that I only use my pc for online games only (Tf2 / l4D) and anything single player games go to PS3 (perhaps with the exception of C&C) |

Yeah, it's retarded - publishers are complaining that the PC market is performing poorly while they are doing everything they can to drive themselves off it. Delayed releases, poor ports, stupid DRM... I think StarDock (and Valve) are one of the few companies that know how to do well on the PC market.

The only game I seem to play now is 'L4D2'. And to be honest, the only game I'm looking forward to this year is 'Red Dead Redemption' in April, and I'll be buying that for the Xbox 360. Well... That and 'Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2'...... But the less said about that, the better methinks. ![]() |

Mind if I join you? I will bring a selection of knives as well as a sledgehammer to destroy their PC.I dont really mind DRM especially the creative kind like with Batman: Arkham Asylum http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/ ... an#3137572 I mean that works, sure theres probably a fix out for that but still as far as i'm concerned its a good way to go. But this is fucking retarded. In what fucking world do they think that something like this is fair game? |

haha Liked that Batman DRM. Like McMoist the only game I play on my PC in L4D2 with occasional TF2 side trips. Plus reading the comments here and my responses I have no fecking idea why I've just ordered a new high spec laptop, clearly just kidding myself. Maybe a my mid-life crisis is arriving. But intel/amd/nvidia must realise that without decent pc games their futures are screwed. |

They don't really care since the majority of people who are buying this will be console people. ![]() |

It is already out on consoles, so I don't believe console gamers will be buying it again. (Semantics fail! :-P)

Not to mention the fact that it's set in Shippuden as well, which is just cracking. |
