This has been around for over a year, think we even had thread. Although I haven't heard any infos since then. But no, I don't think this is gonna kill consoles. ![]() Also interesting article about OnLive: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/gdc-w ... rk-article |

Is this company employing the same people who Ubisoft hired to come up with their DRM? I mean this is a really stupid idea. |

Its a good idea, but you give up all control over your games to them + your ISP, thats why it will not take the world by storm. Lets see if they manage to create lag free, responsive and cheap gaming for everyone... |

If it really delivers what it promises (which I doubt) it could take the world by storm. Imagine buying a PC/nettop/netbook/whatever for about €200 which is just about able to play HD videos - and having a state-of-the-art gaming PC for the rest of your live at €11 ($15) a month - that's just €132 a year for a PC that's never outdated... If you wanted that now you'd have to spend >€500 a year. Not being able to resell the games you bought because they're locked to your account is gonna become "industry standard" soon I'm sure - and after all, with steam-games we all already own some unsellable games... |

OneLive, a too much into the future project. Imo people are just not ready for it. |

I would get it if it worked for single player. Given a lot of games can't get their online code working well I don't hold out much hope for a good online experience. |

Plus it depends on content providers, some dev teams/publishers/hardware manufactures may not want to work with the service and not release new titles on it - its a competitive market, and im not sure how well microsoft and sony will react to this. |

I doubt it works. The article from Eurogamer linked earlier brings up so many problems I just don't see it work.. |

I don't think the infrastructure in this ass backwards country is ready for it.
