Has anyone played or heard anything about this game?
I love a good FF, but hate a bad one - Can't really gather much from online reviews about it though, Ill keep digging, but If anyone has any personal experience lay it on me!

playin it for like 40~ hours now .. i must say it's kinda different to the older ones .. but all in all it's an awesome game.

With Final Fantasy games I'm happy to take a leap in the dark and I've not been disappointed at all yet, apart from Tactics Advance but one out of ...a lot isn't bad going.

I did the same with this game and I've gotta say its not bad stuff. As Baal said its different from the others, and its pretty darn good.

Only real gripes I have about it are minor problems with the combat system, the fact you only control one character in battle is a bit of a bugger, also the fact that if that character gets K.O'd regardless of if your AI team mates are still up, its game over.

But all in all pretty cool.

I have played all since VII and never been disappointed (with the exception of X-2 which was terrible IMO). I am not getting this one due to the little exploration and lack of NPC's....battling is one thing but I think exploration is part of the experience. I know it opens up in the latter bit of the game but I may pick it up in a few months when it's cheaper.

I agree, the general lack of exploration and NPC contact is a negative with this sorta game, and while I cant really defend the lack of exploration, I'll defend the lack of NPC contact with the only thing I can.

The lack of NPC contact really does go with the story of the game.

The characters you use are essentially wanted crimials because the Pulse L'cie markings they've got, it doesnt help that the general public also are afraid of them. So going in to towns/cities with that marking is sure to grab attention to them, as the bits when you are actually in a town/city actually show.

It would screw up the immersion if you were able to walk about without anyone raising an eye brow after you are told in the game that you are generally quite feared.

But yeah the lack of exploration is doing my head in, I want a fucking airship again.

So Im hearing alot about the lack of exploration, customization and general self pacing of the game. I liked in FFIX when I could spend time learning synthesis, or exploring caves and towns before the next big rush of story.

Its not the be all and end all but is it a HUGE detraction? or as gibb says does it flow pretty well?

Also, apart from the pheonix down AI catastrophe, is only controlling 1 member of the party reasonable (i .e. are they not complete imbeciles who spam all my elixirs and then use defend for hours).

Get Mass Effect 2. It's miles better than this Japanese Emo horseshit.
