Post subject:  Everyone try the demo of global agenda?
Global Agenda is in the steam sale for like £16 and it doesn't have a subscription fee anymore (they switched to a guildwars type model I believe). I'm going to download the demo to see what it's like, everyone should check it out 8)

Erm, no, you have the pay for that but its a one off fee, it's like the guild wars model.

Unless they are contradicting their own website which said "It will stay subscription free, now and in the future."

Just found an email from them in my inbox coincidentally:

I dont know yet what kind of modes GA offers, but AvA is probably the most interesting.

The first FAQ didn't say that it would require a monthly fee to keep playing it.
They mean you can't play maps included in the expansion if you don't have the expansion. Hence it may be necessary to pay for it (a one-time fee, just to buy the expansion).

I gave it another try today, I'm still on the meh feeling and some of the changes have confused me. Why they changed the skill point system on the weapons i'll never know but thats just me I guess.

Finding it quite fun, playing the pvp with a group of TF2 competitive players. Until you get to level 10 it's not that good (That's when you can start pvp'ing).

Do like the concept of it and bought it to play the beta, but it didn't manage to keep my interest up in the long term :(
Downloaded it now again to try it out to see what has changed :)

Its got a mini-expansion coming out soon, i've been enjoying it so far, the pvp is awesome as melee recon and drone robo.

Sniper Recon is awesome, you deal 700+ damage per shot from across the map. :ugly:

use the range stim and you'll be doing 1000 per shot + bionics to keep your power up + the stim duration skill so that the stims last for ~17 seconds ;) Awesome for taking down robos

I think Chad and I decided that the european server is close to dead, that is lack of mercenary missions for alliance combat.

You dont need to play on the euro servers, the game is mixed in the main city instances, and you can easily choose the north american servers to play pve/pvp and european AvA still happens (Me and some others from ETF2L have made an agency now, the alliance has around 70 members and we have a hex on the map!). The lag compensation works fine.

It's not a game I would play without being on mumble with the people I'm playing with though, then it would be very boring.
