I've posted about the issue on the Steam forums, but I'm just getting morons telling me to update my drivers even though I state in my OP that I already have.
- I've installed the latest drivers ("Realtek High Definition Audio", apparently. Assuming it's onboard)
- The microphone works fine in Source games
- I've had it working fine in goldsrc earlier.
The wav created when using voice_recordtofile sounds good, but other people have confirmed that I'm still getting this static when online.
Any ideas? When last I had this issue I solved it by changing some setting somewhere. I don't remember what, but it made the mic work fine in all games.
