Ok, made this litl' Star wars podracer model this afternoon and it should be great if i get some feedback about what to change before i go make the cabine interior and texturing (and prob. animating also).
Here's the pic:

Write it if you want the maya file or more pics for feedback.
Thanks.

PS some elements like wind protector or engine back-fire are already in a polygons, just get that in mind that make it a bit ugly.

I haven't been doing 3d very long, but that looks like a pretty good model. I'm assuming this is not for game, so you aren't limited by polycounts? If so, i recommend modelling a lot more detail in order to generate really nice normal maps. (unless that was you plan already  )

Nice one! :5:

Aw sweet, :D will look awesome with CryEngine. :-D You can always make a high poly model, bake down the high detail into normal maps and then make a low poly model for use in game :D

Sorry, got too excited lol, one of my mates made all the weapons in AVP and i just loved watching him making these beautiful high res models, then cutting the hell out of them to make them low poly, but they still looked lovely with the high res normal maps he got from the high poly models!

I'm a 3D noob :S

I also have another mate who one of his architecture projects he put his building he made into CryEngine and beautifully lit it, then allowed his tutors and fellow class mates to run around his building in the nano suit... unfortunately you weren't able to blow the crap out of his lovely building

are the cables going to be pfx? or physical?

Plus, the photography probably isnt the right place for this sort of thing; if you want to, you can post your digital art here http://forum.specialattack.net/viewtopi ... =46&t=7596
