Post subject:  Highlander matches
It has been a month since our sad disappearance from the highlander challenge.
So it is time to start playing again!!
With cherry going and the beta bunnies need fresh blood.
I want to start playing a match each sunday again 20:00 ish.
So who is up to join the bunnies??

these guys are great; highlander is a ball o' fun too, so if you want to get in on some games then go and hit NoNoice up :4 and, if i'm not mistaken, you might (whisper it) get some shiny medals too!

SpA|com's roster is full atm, although Wildblaze is having some serious connection problems - sadly, it looks like he won't manage to play with us for a while now. so if you play pyro, please let me know, because our team is kinda restricted in that department and we're looking for some cover. it'll probably just be a temporary thing, and like i said we can't fit you on the rota, but if i know about everyone who's up for it then i know who to ask for to merc for us. much appreciated if you could tell me about it, cheers :mrgreen:


edit: oops that was bigger than i thought it would be, sorry to highjack your thread a bit.
and i should mention that, even though we're not zomg-serious with our tactics and strategy and stuff, backburner pyro's aren't really what we're looking for here, sorry :<

I do not even know who the teammembers of the beta bunnies are atm
Do the actual beta bunnies play TF2 regular enough during the week to have a chance against another regular playing team at all?

Training in LoL creates the same effect obviously. :mrgreen:

Pyro is so useless in highlander most of the time, last time I've played with commies team I was owned by natascha from across the map all the time :4 :5: Loads of fun ! And competitive tf2 is just about who has better heavy+medic combo, thus booooooring.

Actually in 9vs9 the pyro is quite a solid class. And in 6vs6 the heavy is rarely, if ever, used. :)

it's true that if they're using a natascha heavy, then the pyro is often on total lockdown. which is sad, although when going with a co-ordinated push/hold it's as useful as any other class; and if you're running around solo, then it's as useless as any other class against an organised team (exception here is spy and maybe scout, who are designed to be doing just that anyway).

and i would disagree that it's all about the heavy/medic combo. if both teams are in all-aim-no-brain mode, it is, but if you get teamwork involved then it's a whole different kettle of fish, mein polish freunde :4

Guys, in 6v6, heavies are used a quite lot instead of one of the soldiers in certain situations, but generally aren't the deciding factor in the match. For example, the only top team who can use a heavy effectively when not defending the last point are TCM on gullywash :P

Heavies are generally too slow to be used anywhere other than cp1, except on gullywash because that's a freakishly designed map. They are used more than snipers though from what I've seen, especially since freight has become less popular.

Defending last cap and maps like well or gully are exceptions. Bart said the teams were based around a heavy+medic combo. :P

Yeah, there is only like one team who are based on heavy+medic and they are in div 3 or something. I haven't actually read barts post, I just assume it's wrong. :lol:

It is wrong, cause I think tf2 is the worst first person shooter for competitive play and I've played basically everything else competitvely in my life. Highlander is ok, but in all matches I've played there was a natascha heavy around, and since I think everyone who uses natascha should be shot in the back of the head by Hitler I dont like it :ugly:

I find most other competitive games shallow in comparison. I enjoyed it a lot more once I started playing against div 1 teams (now premiership). Div 3 and 4 play sucks.
