I enjoy drawing from time to time and thus far I've only been using the classical tools of the trade; pen, paper, eraser and lots of stomps.
I'd like to explore the digital side of the craft and thinking of getting a relatively cheap graphics tablet to get started.
From the little I've heard about these tablets WACOM seems solid, and checking their product line the Bamboo tablet seems like a good choice for starters?

Just wanna check with anyone that might offer some tips or other recommendations since I'm new in this area :)

Hey chad, i use two wacoms, my one at work is an A4 Intuos4, and my one at home is an A6 older model. I can fully vouch for the brand.

The bamboo is cheaper, granted, but as you said is a great choice for starters and i have a couple of friends who have and love them.

It's worth investing in an A4 size one thou, as it means you can, if you wanted to, sketch on paper then rest on the tablet.

I have a bamboo a6 version, find the size pretty restrictive.

ffs moose stop trolling me... ^^

as i said A4 is worth the investment, for the reasons moose pointed out. I find my A6 restrictive, so i do all my drawing at work, (the A6 was a present from my mum, she doesn't know technical stuff... :S)

A6 sounds a bit restrictive indeed. Thinking about an A5 or A4 if the price allows.
Being able to place the paper on the tablet and use the sketch as a template of sorts makes the
A4 even more attractive, and it's what I usually draw on too :o

Gotta do some checking up on those technical stuff it seems. Though from a quick glance on their page it seems the bamboo does not come in A4 sadly :(
