Just a little heads up:

I've added two new kits. Nether, and SpecTools.

Nether contains the red stone and the block with faces on it from the nether, and Spectools contains an assortment of tools used in zoning, cuboids, and other admin mods. Nether is member+ with the same cooldown as lightstone, and Spectools is supop+ with the same cooldown as suptools.

What do each of the tools do?

Or is this on the mystical SupOp forum I hear so much about?

The wooden tools do magic zone/cuboid shiz.

Because "being equal" is what were all about.

Post subject:  Re: New Kits

Fehzor, a SupOp forum isn't being unequal unnecessarily.

For instance, what if every single guest got to put their two cents into how map access would work? Almost all of them would want to build on any map, ignoring that their peers (or maybe even them themselves) would not be responsible enough for this privilege, hence the current system.

Also, there are certain things you just don't need to know (i.e. SupOps have to know how to use magic sticks and stuff like that).

Everyone is equal but some are more equal than others. =)

But seriously the SupOp-forum really isnt that interesting. It's mostly used to discuss op/supop-candidates, information on specific commands (zoning) and to say "That's a good idea Lim".

L:ike I've said before (I forget where) But Lim's reason for the Supop forums is so that he can discuss server changes with a few people who have been around for a while, know the server, and that he can trust. Not to say that you dont fit into that category, but he also cannot take hints and suggestions from everyone on the server. Thats how it got fucked up that last time, and i think Lim was just done with all the suggestions.

Post subject:  Re: New Kits

Also stuff that nobody has to know can be handled there.
Like a op that gets a warning about how they handeld stuff,
sometimes in public that gets a negative respons to the public.
Like: "I dont trust you, you fucked up more early'r"

Or suspision about other people, like "I think he is duping watch him" should not be public.
Doesnt matter, right or wrong that suspision is, if its wrong, the player gets a bad name.
If its right, he might undo what he has done and get away with it.

So, Yes. We dont have to know everything.
I trust them to inform us of stuff we need to know, and handle the extra info they got with respect.

LOL - are we seriously getting posts about how "SupOP+ forums aren't fair" now? I was joking about it with Pandorum a couple of days ago. *facepalm*
For your info - you wouldn't BELIEVE how many forum sections on this forum you guys don't have access to. DEAL WITH IT! Ha, ha, ha! This is so stupid, it's funny to me.

I've only got one small problem with the supop forums, and it's that people can't defend themselves if they're being scrutinised, and decisions are made without their input, which is like taking someone to court, with out them actually taking them to the court lol

Besides that, I trust it's not like people are lying, and undermining people in there, so yeah :16

It isn't a bitch-fest, it is primarily about server specific things such as what permissions should the ranks have and what commands should we allow in the plugins.

Author:  Lim-Dul [ 26 Nov 2010, 17:57 ]
Post subject:  Re: New Kits

Also, I must yet again stress that this is not a democracy (SpA, that is). If you can't provide "input" about certain things in certain forum parts it's because you don't have the respective ranks! Hey, what about providing input in our SpA management section? Barely anybody can do it anyway and the decisions made therein override pretty much everything. How about that?

I know I know, it's just how things have to be otherwise things just wont work. If everyone had a say on every forum it'd be well... stupid, but what I'm saying it's a shame that when it's a certain person who's being discussed, they can't have their say or defend themself. I'm aware if they could see such a thread, people are going to be less blunt in talking about them. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it's a shame no less.

Anyway I don't mind secret forums at all, they're secret for a reason, but don't be so surprised when other people are sceptic, or uncormfortable about them, it's not like they're idiots or something for thinking they're unfair. It's totally plausable to say they aren't fair, I mean they're gonna accept it, but they don't have to like it.

It's not plausible to say it's unfair, any forums, ANY forums have hidden forums the everyday normal guy doesn't see because he doesn't need to see them, it's just a way to keep things good, any company has meetings the everyday regular employee doesn't see, once again because he doesn't need to see it, it's just how life is, without it, it would be madness, it's not about being equal or not, it's about not letting anyone decide of things that are very important for the survival of the company/comunity/whatever you want.

Why are you telling me this? I know, that's why I'm fine with it, I'm not bothered about it. I'm just saying you shouldn't be so surprised that some people don't like it, am I speaking a different language here? lol

Post subject:  Re: New Kits

On that same note, another reason we want to keep the people discussion threads hidden is so that the person in discussion does not change his/her actions once people begin to pay more attention to said person. It typically allows for a better knit community, as there will be less hidden despise for a person who said something about an individual that could have a negative context.
