Ok, so my internet connection is still fucked up so I can't play TF2 at the min so I’m unimaginably bored at the moment and looking for something new. So I’m looking at getting either this or maybe getting back into WoW (with the new world changes coming today I can finally level alts without doing the same quests I’ve already done a million times over) and just had a few questions. Is it still fairly easy to find spaces to build on SMP? Or has most of it been taken already? And does it take a long time to get started? Or can you just pretty happily just jump in and get going (after spending a little time in freebuild to get a better idea of the game mechanics of course)? Oh, and hi minecrafters ![]() |

There are still a fair few spaces on SMP. It took me a few days to understand the SMP differences but i had been playing Freebuild for around 2 months before SMP. But there are lots of people to guide you and i have lots more fun there than on Freebuild! Hope this answered your questions, Sam BTW, At the mo LOLNOTCH made some "updates" and SpA SMP ain't workin! EDIT: You gotta get in quicker next time Filler ![]() |

Lots of space still free and for a "getting started" guide I would recommend having this on hand until you have familiarized yourself with the recipes. How to use redstone isnt really all that important. Though be aware that LOLNOTCH finally decided to add health and mobs to SMP today. So the server is probably going to be unreachable/glitchy as hell for a couple of day. Edit: Damn you tassam! |

SMP is like 40-50% water, 10-20% built on, and the rest is free, you wont have any space problems! And you can get started easily, mining and gathering materials is way less boring than grinding in WoW, and people will probably chuck you some free stuff if you ask nicely. |

20% built on? No way. There's shitloads of free land. |

Once you know a few basics, you can read my guide to the SpA SMP server (slightly outdated). http://forum.specialattack.net/viewtopi ... 107&t=8540 To be exact, I heard the server switched to iConomy, so ignore the money part, you need to talk to someone in-game to learn that. |

Just an opinion, but you should get on single player first, for around 10 minutes, and then when you know how to do stuff go to SMP and people will help you. |

Well, it didn't crash, I was rolling back to fix some fail I did while burning down trees WHICH PEOPLE LEAVE FLOATING IN THE AIR. I was seemingly burning down free-standing logs and then climbed up the hill and was like *whistle, whistle* I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK *whistle, whistle* OH FUCK, WHAT IS THAT HUGE HALO OVER THERE!?!? THE SPAWN IS BURNING! ;-) I don't know how the fire got there but that is the risk of using it in the first place. :-P Luckily for new trees we have the LeafDropper plugin. ^^ |

LMAO. First it was the dirt holes guests made. Now its the retarded looking floating trees. Smokey is disappoint.
