Right off the bat, I'm stickying this for attention. ATTENTION MINECRAFTERS: I NEED YOUR HELP! I'm running through the configs of iConomy trying to set up a global shop. What does this mean you ask? Good question. I'll tell you. The global shop will buy and sell resources from players. Have a shitload of extra cobble? Sell it to the shop! You'll get compensated IMMEDIATELY and AUTOMATICALLY, and someone else can come along and buy it later. The shop will be buying low, and selling high. It may still be more price effective to buy from another player, but the shop is a faster route. WHAT I NEED FROM YOU: I need to get a general idea of how much you guys value the basic resources. Then, I'll set the shop to buy for 50-75% of the general price and sell for 125-150% Resources: Price by Stack : Buying At/Selling At STONE: $3 : $2/$5 COBBLESTONE: $2 : $1/$3 MOSSY-COBBLESTONE LOGS: $6 : $4/$9 WOOD: $3 : $2/$4 CLAY BRICKS OBSIDIAN: $25 : $19/$31 BOOKSHELF CLOTH GLASS IRON BLOCKS (Stacks of them, mind you) GOLD BLOCKS DIAMOND BLOCKS (I don't think we'll sell these in block form) DIAMONDS IRON ORE IRON INGOTS GOLD ORE GOLD INGOTS REDSTONE TORCH LAVA-BUCKET WATER-BUCKET (food doesn't stack, so prices for single items) BREAD PORK GRILLED-PORK APPLE GOLDEN-APPLE (I'm very sorry about the names of the hell blocks, stupid iConomy) RED-MOSSY-COBBLESTONE MUD BRITTLE-GOLD Also, if I missed anything we should buy/sell, or you think we shouldn't buy/sell something on this list, post that here too. Thanks in advanced. |

Ollie made a list didn't he? I can sense a lot of abuse of the sell system, with people selling duped items or stolen items, how bout you put it on hold for a bit, least till Notch fixes duping? |

EDIT: Ollie, yeah, they can dupe and sell, but if they can dupe, what's to keep them from getting just a few of that type of block and duping it until they have a ton of it? There's no difference, though everyone can see if their cash goes from 300th to 7th multiple times per hour.
STONE - $3 (I like this amount) COBBLESTONE - $2 MOSSY-COBBLESTONE $10 DIRT (We should even trade dirt.) - $1 GRAVEL (See dirt) - $5 LOGS - $4 WOOD - Not for sale (Just buy logs) SAND - $4 CLAY - $5 BRICKS (Block or individual? I'm assuming block.) $8 OBSIDIAN - $25 (Partly because it's a PITA to remove) BOOKSHELF - $10 CLOTH - $5 GLASS - $5 IRON BLOCKS (Stacks of them, mind you) I'd recommend selling them individually if possible. If not, $200/stack? GOLD BLOCKS - $500 DIAMOND BLOCKS (I don't think we'll sell these in block form) - >$9000 DIAMONDS - $100 IRON ORE - $30 IRON INGOTS - $45 GOLD ORE - $50 GOLD INGOTS - $75 REDSTONE - $20 TORCH - $2? LAVA-BUCKET - I'd advise against selling this. Assuming they're sold individually, $25? WATER-BUCKET - $15 (food doesn't stack, so prices for single items) BREAD $5 PORK $2 GRILLED-PORK $5 APPLE $5 GOLDEN-APPLE $50? (I'm very sorry about the names of the hell blocks, stupid iConomy) [I've substituted what *I* know them as, so there's no confusion] RED-COBBLESTONE $2/stack QUICKMUD - $5/stack LIGHTSTONE - $5/stack, $2 if we keep current kits |

If anything xes, this helps us find stupid dupers. We can wipe their banks if need be anyway, and it wont hurt the enconomy as a whole. I'll be watching the records and balances carefully after I implement.

Here is the one I was working on a long time ago. Like, before I went to Italy. It is VERY unfinished, but these prices should be lowered for the buy low sell high thing. Squish it with proto's thing and use some judgement and I reckon you're all set.

Ollie's prices were generally high. We were buying and selling diamonds for half those prices. I'f I'm fixing prices, I need more accuracy. |

A double post? Oh no. We're all going to die. I updated the op with prices for the blocks I think we should try out, considering we're running a test map atm anyway. I'll let this sit here and get some feedback before moving. I think I will also be seeding the shop with some rare blocks, like grass. Probably price it crazy high, and then lower it slowly. |

Post subject: | Re: Global Shop - Resource Prices |
You talk about dupers... what should I do with my 400 stacks of cobblestone I got from clearing 60k blocks? Also, it seems that stone is a bit overpriced on ollie's list: 8 stacks of cobblestone (56) + a stack of coal (20) = 76 / sell 8 stacks of stone (25) for 200 - that's just too much profit for my taste. Unless of course the shop does not have unlimited cash, and instead there's a cap of a few k's. Or we could add lower buying prices and higher selling, but then, people'd probably stop using it or the shop would end up broke and stocked up with basic resources we usually find useless. EDIT: I think you guys should consider increasing the price of coal significantly - once we're allowed to place rails, people will need large amounts of it. 20 seems quite low. |

Kattoo, if you really have that much, contact a trustee and he'll verify it, then you can sell it. |

You need coal to smelt iron that's required for creating rails... I thought that part was obvious ![]() |

8 coal for 64 iron. That is not much. Dont you allready need that now for loads of stuff? like cobblestone? |

400 stacks of cobblestone is $400. That's not too much. I'm not going to implement coal just yet, so keep on talking that over. Throw some numbers out there, don't just say "too low." |

I can see big increases in peoples money at first, selling items in chests and whatnot, I think it will be hard to tell who's duping and who's not |

Yeah I think dirt, sand and gravel should go on the list, even if selling it makes nothing. I went through a phase of just incinerating my dirt and gravel, but it turned out I was gonna need a lot of it for my town. Just putting this out there, but I think we should be /item a shitload of sand into the shop, so people can buy it instead wrecking beaches, and ruining the landscape. |

From my understanding the general consensus is that we're using the list that Ollie created, no? In which case a stack of cobblestone is worth 7$, if we're using yours, however, true enough ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think I may set it to buy and sell in increments of half-stacks so I have more control over the price. |

I don't think it should as well it would encourage people to gather mass amounts of dirt/cobble to gain money. (Big changes on the surface)

I would atleast make it that you get $1 or nothing for dirt and cobble, it just saves people burning it or chucking it away. That way it can be available on the shop, and the shop can still sell it, and make a profit.

Alternatively, it could be good to get rid of whatever excess there is of the materials, if you have 400 stacks of cobblestone, then selling them for 1/2 a stack might be plausible. Either way... If there wasn't a massive surplus of them, then they'd be a bit more rare.Junco beat me to this- right above here. Oh, and records. Those could be potently sold as well, for like, a lot. And pig saddles, for like, 1000 or something. |

I agree. I completely destoryed several beaches in less than an hour to make glass. I made shitloads but it left huge holes by the waterfront. Although i thought it would eventually return, but i do see why we should have a central shop to reduce mass destruction. Also when i ddig huge holes i fill them with either dirt or cobble i have collected in the past. |
