Does anyone use this EPIC mod? Basicly what it does is scrap the whole idea that every block has 1 colour of lighting, makes the lighting all 3d-ish and makes it look EPICZORZNESS! I made a tutorial on how to get it last night, and it has a quick demo at the start. Check it out =P So it gives no advantages, it just makes Minecraft look SNAZZY! Theres a post on the Minecraft forums about it: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=55700 Tell me if you have it / are getting it / wish you have it |

Hmm might get this, because I still prefer the default, get stuffed RPG obsessed default haters, and this would make it look reeeal snazzy. I'm on a crumby cheap laptop with Windows Vista on it, so using mc on fancy usually crashes me, would this mod cause me any lag do you think? |

i actually tested this. not sure which emote to use here...I'm on a crumby cheap laptop with Windows Vista on it, so using mc on fancy usually crashes me, would this mod cause me any lag do you think? ^o^? :3 ? X_V anyway... what graphics card do you have? my current "laptop"/gary coleman grill could run everything smoothly (AO, chatmod, /w FF in the backgroud) on a turion dual @2.8ghz, 4gigs of ddr2 667, and an ati HD 3200 no FPS difference was discernible switching on and off AO with fraps, so i dont think it really affects performance. I found, the difference between normal and far is about 10 times worse than the difference between AO and no AO /facepalm Notch You used Java... In other words Junco, use it :) ill save you guys the benchmarks V_X /ban Capi geekiness on the SpA Forums instead of procrastinating like a normal girl on facebook. |

This looks good.... but it seems like it'd make caves even darker than they already are, which means I most likely wont use it ![]() |

Actually, I don't notice a big difference in caves or at night. |

Nah - the light range is the same - what it does (apart from ambient occlusion as before) is smooth the light so it's not per-block but decreases gradually. The averages across the whole distance remain the same. |

After much hand-holding by Glitch, i actually managed to get the thing working. its EPIC, but it seems like its loading chunks slower than normal. Is that usually the case? |

Post subject: | Re: Anyone Use MrMMods 'Better Light'? |
I guess this doesn't add lag because the lightmap is fully generated when the chunk loads. This also explains the longer loading time. |
