Unfortunately not, the most advanced feature (custom made by a fan) is a sort of cheap ambient occlusion.

Thing is, this game is like the original Fallout series, it's valued for the gameplay and not for the graphics. I'm just saying you're missing out a lot discarding it purely out of aestethical prejudice.

Just throwing this out there. There ARE texture packs for minecraft (already stated). Which can help in the tiniest way possible. And depending on how good you are, you could make your own
