I am looking for a monitor, I'm finding it quite hard to decide because I get fixated on little problems each monitor has/people claim it has. The leader at the moment is the Samsung Syncmaster F2380M That would be perfect except for the response time, I'm not sure how much of a problem this would actually prove to be, but I would like some inputs from people who might own decent monitors. Some outlines: - Must have HDMI input - Preferably 24+ inch - Can't be too much over £200 - Good colour reproduction is of course preferred - Viewing angle is does not have to be perfect (ie TN panels are ok) |

The samsung one will do fine m8. Response times are highly subjective if they do not state how they measured it. gtg, gtb, bwegh. It's all highly subjective and doesn't tell you much tbh. There's no fixed guideline on when they should start measuring or what. A few topics, a few years back, I posted some links on the technical know how of measuring response times. Quite some hours of reading  .

That site seems pretty good, I assume they use BTB, and they do the same test for every monitor. I think I will get it anyway, I already have a 2ms (probably 5ms BTB) TN panel for gaming so this one doesn't need to have a great response time.

That was my other option, it's pretty much colour reproduction/contrast/viewing angle vs response/price. I didn't realise but my shitty old TN panel had a 5ms GTG response time, which is worse than the F2380M and I loved it for gaming  Just biting the bullet and going for the F2380M, if I don't like it for games I will just use my old one solely for games
