Post subject:  I need another GPU (Again) - NVIDIA
So i went out and bought a 5750 last week. It's an awesome card i'll give it that but...

The FGLRX drivers suck on Ubuntu.

So i need a temporary (or maybe permanent) card to use until either FGLRX works properly or i'll stick with NVIDIA if it works.

Maybe a GTX460 1GB GDDR5?

I still don't get it tbh. Have you even tried the drivers ATI supplies you, the 13 december drivers?

Now you wanna buy even a second graphics card, while you spent your money already on that ati card, to run you Minecraft?
This all while most games don't even run easily on linux.
Sounds to me like you have too much money, or you're making some weird choices I really don't understand. Anyway, buy the NVIDIA and send me the ati card, I'd like an upgrade :P

Yeah I'm using the proprietary drivers. Which don't like java. But i actually realised I'm getting paid less this week so I'm going to use my 8400GS again till it's sorted. Which works fine BTW.

I also needed the card for more graphics dependent games which work but are painful with an 8400GS.

Looks like I have a $125 piece of card until the drivers/java work (Which isn't likely)

I'm not sure. I suppose I'll just say it didn't work and swap it. But yeah even using WINE (Not a "'Windows Emulator'") the drivers still don't like Java. It works but not well.

I'll try taking it back. Depends how I feel tomorrow.

Took it back, Got full credit :mrgreen:

Tried to get the last GTS450 (Better price) it was reserved -_-

So I forked out the extra $70 (A bit under 50 pounds) for the GTX460.
