I didn't write any of these signs that are showing up in a few griefed places all over the SMP world. This is just a heads up to all those who think a trustee would grief and steal their things.

Also cropping up all over the place are "bob and joe claimed" signs

I had three in one area, and I believe Foxes20 might have been the perpetrator/seen the perpetrator because I THINK "RedFollower" was claimed by Bob and Joe and Foxes was in the area.

all I know is my build got grief, items stolen and a bob and joe sign appeared at the same time...

I don't like leaping to conclusions, signs all over the place and grief... maybe the same people.

What rank can place and write on signs?

Foxes IS the culprit for the bob and joe signs, however I find it highly unlikely that he'd grief. :shock:

I am indeed the one who posted the Bob and Joe signs. Griefing? No. Rwojy and I were just putting them where there was interesting stuff, kind of like the Lim signs scattered throughout oldworld.

Guys, isn't there just a simple way to check who removed any given block? If I have a build and someone grief it, can't any op check who destroyed for ex. a block in that build? Isn't it logged or smth?

We have a tool that can do that on the freebuild server but as far as I know, we don't have one on SMP

We had a plugin for that on SMP but considering that it could lag the server [even more] and created huge-ass, slow DBs I removed it again since during the time it was active it didn't come in handy ONCE.

It was really cool but not at all worth it. Considered all the players demand the fuck out of mobs yet cry their face off when a lag spike comes around, I hardly think they could handle block tracking for the 6 or so cases in the last month.

Also Lim, I was searching through the logs because Hit_Girl suggested signs might be logged. Is this true?

Admittedly, I've been working more on my FB build, but SMP hasn't been lagging much when I've been on, at least as far as I've noticed.

EDIT: That said, of course, block tracking would be problematic in SMP, since it'd eat up more resources for something that already devours everything in its path.

Yes there seems to be a mass wave of griefers lately on smp. Even my home on there got griefed last night. They stole my mailbox, took out chunks of my home, and stole my bookshelves.

But hey, this is survival right? Thieves in the real world, thieves in the minecraft world.

Maybe start a home insurance agency on there? lol

I've been asking the occassional new guest where they got the IP from and they just say the server list on the forums.

I would probably say it was a reaction to the ban on all those alts.

Doubt he's been raising an army dude.

I'd say it's just from forums, a lot of servers I've seen aren't as stable as ours. Lag was so bad on one I built a house around a creeper and pushed a zombie off a cliff.

Last time I checked, we had a raiding party from Orcworm on our server, he had like 5 alts, he doesn't need an army....
