I was assisting vets patrol main as it was OP free for about an hour and came across a griefer.

I decided to do a /info on him to see if they had been warned. No previous kicks.

BUT there were 22 alts on that IP. I froze and queried as to why there were 22 accounts there and he left and never returned.

Some of the alts I did infos on. Some had almost no time on the server (one did literally nothing for no ammount of time)

I thought maybe a school IP perhaps. Not a chance some of the names were just to similar for me to consider that as a option.

The alts are listed below

Danispanis (Griefer who was caught and INFO'd)
ubbeflum
jillo (the NOTHING guy)
teozac
altos00
wihol-00
gwe
I DID NO /INFO AFTER HERE
codkiller1
wille2525
farfarek
jollox
luckymankid
jagge1998 (Maybe he is 12 some kids put their YOB in their username)
farfarjk (looks like farfarek right?)
12345678sxdcfgh (For of numbers the look how the letters are typed (ran out of alt names?))
hitler12 (Do we ban hitlers or only swastikas?)
ohoj1
kiriakis
chelseafan00
qitt
qitt3 (Totally wont know who qitt is aye?)

I am happy for this to be moved to OP discussion as I am no longer a concerned party as I have reported it here which is the extent of my power as VET

That is a lotta alts. Could be a school IP. How many are banned?

Forgot to mention, I did a banall that nailed half of these, but somehow I forgot about the rest :-?

Ya, I wouldnt ban all just cause he has lots of alts on his Ip address, it will most likely be a school ip.

If there's mutiple griefer accounts from a school, it's probably a wise choice to ban the ip, I might look into this later, ban the ips but not the accounts.
Besides if we banall enough school ips we might nail Doc :P

Either way, banall granted in my opinion. School IPs are dangerous things to have allowed.

Oh, btw, I'm moving to university next year. Anyone know what the IP situation with dorms is?

You will most likely be sitting behind one public ip with the rest of the people dorming there.

Ok well I have OP now so...

I provided reasons to believe its not a school IP and regardless if it is

Some people think when they are kicked they cant use that account anymore.

AND if they do that after a kick then we don't know if they have alts when they log in for the first time as it tells us its for the first time and leaves out and alts.

None were banned but most of the ones i checked had griefer stats.

Either way 22 accounts on an IP is a joke. Even if it is public the names are too similar for most of them.

Eh, at least it looks like I'll be honors or education dorms. That said, I may try to proxy out (anyone know if that's verboten at most colleges?) and use my main IP, if I can figure out a way to.

The IP can be banned but your playername can be set to ignore the IP ban. Either way you should be learning dammit!

I'm in uni dorms and my IP is all mine. I made it static at one point though, and after about a month I'd get a message saying someone was sharing my IP. So aslong as you don't make it static, and it's dynamic or something, you should be ok.

I get interrogated by Cisco everytime I wanna connect, I haven't paid my bill so I'm using my Girlfriend's login. Don't tell Saintk :ugly:

Its kinda funny that you cant access minecraft.net (and almost every other game website) on school computers in New South Wales (Not that sure about the other states in Australia)
