The duck photo's nothing special really is it? Is it just because it's looking at the water, does that make a winning shot now?

Getting a picture of a duck looking into water is like getting a picture of cow eating grass... even then they managed to make it blurry

The robin picture is very nice though

I have to admit there are some really nice other pictures in the mix.

BUT F@CK MY ASS? THAT DUCK IS IN THE TOP TIER?
Seriously? Not only does it have the technical flaws that Moist pointed out but the image itself doesn't really create a nice atmosphere. Maybe if the theme of the contest was like "Leap of Faith" or "Courage" but for "Winter"? To be fair, there's snow, but that's all about. There are a dozen other pics that have a really nice atmosphere to it. The duck doesn't.

Btw fyi, I had duck yesterday evening. It was delicious.
