We're in the process of upgrading our Linux machines from Debian Lenny (5.0) to Debian Squeeze (6.0). These upgrades will be performed throughout the day, and stuff will most likely break. The ever present question is, what will break today?

We'll keep you posted through this topic. First up, MrBlonde containing all the TF2/L4D2 gameservers.

# update 1
We've succesfully upgraded MrBlonde to Debian Squeeze without too much troubles. We are however confronted with the new kernel detecting ECC errors in one of our memory modules. This module appears to be broken and will require further troubleshooting when being onsite in the datacenter.

One error needs fixing before the servers get launched again, but that's just a relatively minor cosmetic issue bugging us tech's when being logged onto the servers console.

# update 2
We'll be starting working on MrWhite soon. This means the website, forums, mumble, IRC bouncers etc. will be down during the upgrade time.

# update 3
Gameservers on MrBlonde are back online. Please report any performance issues.

# update 4
Due to a file move the maintenance on MrWhite is delayed for a few hours. We'll probably start upgrading MrWhite early this evening.

# update 5
There where more files then diskspace to be moved, causing MrGreen to run out of diskspace, causing the minecraft servers to go down. File move canceled, disk cleaned up, awaiting till we can remove the files. Upgrade on MrWhite postponed till tomorrow.

# update 6
We're starting at upgrading MrWhite now

# update 7
Update on mrWhile *failed*. After upgrading to Squeeze MySQL, Apache2 and ZNC refused to boot. As it's a VMware machine we have made a snapshot of the OS before the upgrade and reverted back to that. We'll do another attempt later when we have people available to troubleshoot these issues.

It's kind of fun guessing when the next break will happen, been quite a drought lately.
