So, what has Lim-Dul been up to apart from whining about bad games? Did he start hating on everything but HoN? No! In fact I've found many interesting titles I'm excited about and will report on in different posts.
First up is Bloodline Champions, currently in VERY closed beta (comparatively speaking).
It's another one of those "Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas" which DotA and HoN are usually classified as but actually plays COMPLETELY different and I would wholeheartedly encourage everybody to at least take a peak at it and register for the beta. Unlike HoN or DotA you don't level your heroes, you don't defend/attack bases, don't buy items and don't fight AI creeps - it's pure player versus player action played on small maps, each round lasting two minutes tops.
I'd say Bloodline Champions is a mix of Diablo, DotA/HoN, WoW Arenas and especially top-down shooters. You don't even click to move - you only aim with the mouse while movement is handled by your usual WASD layout, very much like Crimsonland and hundreds of other similar titles.
Virtually all spells/abilities have to be targeted manually and hence there's a great deal of skill involved and FPS experience might actually be very useful.
What I was especially enamored with is the overall game design and lore. It's nothing like your typical good vs evil fantasy world with orcs and elves - it's being developed by a small Swedish studio and hence has a very European "Nordic" feeling to it. The artwork and character design is absolutely brilliant and I'm a big fan of the fact that none of the female champions are oversexualized as usual (as much as I am a fan of massive boobage).
By all means check it out, register for the beta and hope for the best! I'm having an absolute blast playing it and the fact that matches last so shortly makes it a PERFECT drop-in-drop-out title, which I love.
Watched a video or two and signed up (liked their beta signup form with monthy python references :), and the beta invite just dropped down in my mailbox. Downloading the client now...
If I understood it right, it plays more like CS than any of the other DotA-based games.. with no upgrades or so. Not sure what my opinion of it will be.. but I liked TF2 enough without any upgrades or so cause the game-play is good enough at it's own (as a spy at least :), so if there are any cool classes I'm interested :)

Yeah, it plays nothing like DotA or HoN or other "Tower Defense" games especially since there are no towers in the first place, or creeps, or items, or leveling up. :-P

Kinda like it actually... wonder if there will be any objective based gameplay though... DM isn't my preference, but it's ok.

There are various gameplay modes. CTF and territory control in addition to DM. But for CTF and Conquest you need like a 5on5, so rarely anybody plays it. :-P

Hopefully they'll add it to the auto matchmaking thingy, or have they already? o0
Still finding my way around all the buttons and options.. or well, I stopped looking after I found the matchmaking one.

I played with Emu a ranked game ( my first game EVAR! ) and we got totally owned.
Then we trained a bit in 1on1 and proceeded to kick some ass in my second ranked game ( Emus fourth ). I owned the damage statistic with the spear guy. But the other 2 were close behind and together we won 5:0.
Its a nice little game.
If you'd ever be fucking online I would play it. Playing with strangers as a beginner is like playing as flowchart Ken against Ball-only Blanka in SF4 --> not fun fucking retarded
