Epic review http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... Redemption  Brown Alive Redemption :ugly: As for the game I agree with yahtzee - I wonder when will R* learn, that holding X/A to run and tap X/A to run faster is annoying as fuck. And I still prefer GTA to this - running people over while driving 150km/h in a big limousine with some metal or Vladivostok FM on the radio is more entertaining than riding a horse for 1000 hours listening to the same tune.

it only contains sum cutscenes from the first missions u'll do & ends with the assault on fort mercer (which is ur main target in the first hours of the game) ..
plus the story is kinda different as in the real game at sum points.

.. so imo no real spoilers .. nah! (;

I know this is necro-posting a wee bit, but I'd like to say that I traded in my old clunker of an Xbox today and got a shiny new 250gb Xbox Slim model. And very sexy it is.

So from this day forth, I will be more than up for a game of Read Dead online. This is mainly aimed at Balls, although I know he's in France right now. But when you get back, hit me up on Xbox Live and I'll totally park a wagon on your scrawny ass.

EDIT: God damn, Red Dead Redemption online is an absolute gas! Me and my mate played it for about five hours last night, and holy hell was it funny.

It's weird, but all the flower picking and animal hunting in the single player game never really grabbed me, but online it suddenly becomes compulsive gameplay.

I think what makes it so funny is the fact you can be picking flowers while some guy is bounding toward you unloading rifle rounds in your direction. And if one of you gets killed, it basically snowballs into a map wide hunt for revenge. We formed a posse, and were constantly hounded by this guy called Penghis. What happened was we were doing a Gang Hideout mission which is basically like a game of assault. It all adds up to XP which you can level up with and get better shit, which is pretty necessary since you start out with the worst guns, and a donkey, which is beyond useless.

But anyway, we were doing the mission and Penghis was up on the hill trying to snipe us. He got in a lucky shot and killed my mate. So after that we hunted him down relentlessly and continually killed him. Bless his cotton socks, he tried to fight back, but he just wasn't very good.

So the game went on, and eventually we decided to head to an old Army fort up on a cliff that's only accessible by one route. One very open route. Perfect defending territory for anybody who wants to hole up there basically. Me and my mate got there and we were perturbed to find it was being occupied by the scourge of Xbox Live, teenagers. And English ones at that. So we decided to storm it.

Unfortunately, as I said, the fort is easily defendable given it's position, and one of them was a really good Sniper. It's also worth noting that his mount was a Zebra. :ugly:

We Soldiered on however, and continued to push forward, die, push forward, die, push forward, sniper one of them, die.

Then I noticed that Penghis had tracked us down once again, but he wasn't attacking us. Oh no. He was trying to push up the hill with us. Old enemies had become allies against a common enemy! So we inducted him into our posse and the fight raged on throughout the night. Like I said though, he still wasn't very good, but God damn did he have staying power.

Eventually the kids on the hill got bored and went away, and we occupied it with beaming pride. Then we all did a synchronised suicide in a wagon I had commandeered. Straight off the side of the cliff. :5:

Me and my mate were talking about it afterwards, and we reckon it's kinda like a mini MMORPG. And if there's one company who could make a MMORPG, and not have it be completely gay, then it would be Rockstar. I still hope they don't though cause.... Well... Y'know.

But if they want to continue down this route of absolutely superb online games, then they have my blessing.

Oh, and yeah, I sniped that guy off his Zebra and had a little shot of it. And boy can that sucka move!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! :D

You're already on my friends list Simon B.

And yeah, I'm still playing it. Turns out it really is a massive grind fest. Me and my mates were trying to level up last night by doing various challenges, but we kept getting hassled by fucking assholes who just will not stop shooting us. I tried to make it clear to this one particular knob end that I wasn't interested in constantly battling him to the death, by not shooting back at him. He seemed to take this as a sign that I was weak and he should double his efforts to perforate my filthy Miner's body with lead.

Eventually I just got pissed off, and decided to lead him to a place where I could hold up on the roof of a building, and I knew he'd have a hard time reaching me. I was joined by my brothers in arms, and I basically shot him about forty times with my bolt action rifle. He left the game. And I can only imagine, took a massive overdose and died in a puddle of his own vomit and piss, cause inadequacies that had haunted him all his life couldn't even be rectified in a game on Xbox Live, and therefore he was officially just a big ole' waste of life.
