Buy Super Mario Galaxy 2 today? I really enjoyed the first one, and apparently the second is even better...

It's really raining outside, and I could use a good rainy day game to lift my spirits. And what better to lift my spirits than Super Mario eh?

Answers on a postcard kids.

I finished Mass Effect 2 ages ago though. And I couldn't play it anyway, since my Xbox died. Hell, I'd be finishing Red Dead Redemption if my Xbox wasn't dead.

Hence the reason why I'm thinking of buying a game for the Wii.

If it's got "Mario" tacked on it, usually it's a good game.

Apart from the fact that SMG had this really ridiculous and awkward "background story" (if you dare to call it so) and I wanted to smack the developers in the face for that, because a platformer doesn't need a fucking background story.

But the game was nice, so do it.

That has to be the softest core I've ever seen in my merry puff.

And I'm British, and you know the kinda pap we've had on TV over the years......... :(

When will they learn that hardcore porn is the very backbone of a well balanced and enlightened society? WHEN!?!?

I'm a horrible person on the inside. Just... awful. And you wanna know why!? Cause all I had was The Red Shoe Diaries with David 'X Files' Duchovny in it! That's simply not good enough. Growing boys need vagina's!

Right, I bought it.

Now I just have to find the Wii component cables... The Wii's graphics are bad enough without them. Saying that, Mario Galaxy 1 was a good looking game. :)

Still not playing without component cables though. :ugly:

EDIT: I also bought some ASDA Blue Charge energy drink, for nostalgic purposes. It used to be our gaming lubricant of choice back in the PS2 days. That and Jack Daniels. Not together of course, that would be a hideous crime against JD.

Good times though. Sitting up my mates baking hot loft, running from the cops in GTA III and risking severe diabetic shock with bottle after bottle of Blue Charge.

Ah, to be 17 again...

I found the first one incredibly boring. If you want a amazing wii game buy No More Heroes, the sequel to it was also released recently so ill probably buy it.

Here's a reviewers description of it. :)

"It's extremely well crafted from beginning to end, and rarely (if ever) sacrifices fun for delivering a message. No More Heroes 2 still makes me laugh, scream, think, and violently wank, even more so after the first play-through. That's more than I can say for almost any game this generation."

Nah, I didn't fancy No More Heroes at all. The controls looked stiff, and I've kinda grown out of all that OTT Japanese crap now.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the other hand, just feels like more of the same. Which is in absolutely no way a bad thing.

Seriously, maybe I'm just being humped into submission by nostalgia every time I play these games, but you can't deny that everything is crafted to absolute perfection. The controls are just sublime. They really, really are. Whenever Mario gets hurt or dies, you really have nobody to blame but yourself. I can't even send signals from my brain to my limbs telling them to move that fast. It's absolutely fan fucking tastic. What a joy this game is. And Yoshi's back too, which is awesomeness.

The best thing of all though, and I'm not even kidding here, is the music. I mean, the music in the first game was superb but this game actually trumps it. The funny thing is, before I jumped on Yoshi, I said to myself;

'When I get on this fucker, the music better alter slightly to add a percussion track to it'

And when I did, and it DID! Oh man. I soiled myself, I was that ecstatic. Ecstatic with excrement.

When I die, I'm just going to play that music at my funeral. Nobody will even care that I'm dead. They'll just be jumping around, stomping on turtles and smashing their heads off invisible blocks. And that's what I want for those I love. To completely forget about me, even at my own funeral.

meh, i got used to the controls pretty quick. The bosses pretty much make up for any flaw in the game anyway.

I was confused for a second there, I didn't realise you were talking about No More Heroes, and not SMG2. :P
