Stuff that will be included with the release:

Skulks, Gorges, Lerks and their basic movement abilities and weapons

Alien evolution menu for choosing your lifeform and upgrades
Basic marine and alien commander interfaces including MACs, Drifters
Much of our final sounds, artwork, animations, etc.

My initial plan was to buy it in the steam store, but that won't get me into the alpha :o

We're going to colocate a 3rd machine for this game in the RIX datacenter. This machine is nearly complete, it only requires a new HDD and casing, estimated costs around 350,- euro's. People who seriousely want this game from the start on would do good to support us with a bit of extra money for this investment. The rest of the machine we already have (topnoch Xeon Q-core CPU, Tyan mobo, proper ECC mem etc).

You dont need a paypal account - just a creditcard...Buying steam stuff with an paypal account could become your worst nightmare mate.

Huh? I pretty much buy all my games through PayPal. Never had a problem... Bought some directly off my credit card too. Ironically in most cases PayPal offers better exchange rates than my bank. 0_o

Will i get alpha access with the standard edition to after 26 july? I don't want to pay another 20$ just for a black armor

Also never played the first one what's this game about ( game modes) ?

I don't think it will be a system hogger with this system requirements:

1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, a DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows Vista/2000/XP, Steam, mouse, keyboard and an internet connection.

The system requirements has me a little worried

it's 2010 after all and they seem really low but the screenshots look nice.

According to the preorder page I just noticed that
it seems you need to order the special eddition to get into the alpha ><
The standard edition will get you into the beta though.

Didn't plan on buying the special edition cause of a black marine armor :/
Had they made it a black alien skin, then it would've been a done deal :P

Though as the prices are increased after the 26 I still better preorder the standard version
at least.

Basically it's a hybrid FPS and RTS game which pits you as either the frontiersmen or aliens battling over resources scattered about the map. The team that controls most of these resources has a better chance at gaining the upper hand thus making the task, which is to completely obliterate the opposing team, much easier.
Resources are required in order to upgrade equipment and weapons as marines or bigger and stronger lifeforms as the aliens.

About 2 hours left until the Alpha is released.

We have test servers running at 85.17.60.103 and 85.17.102.2 . These servers are there to get some experience in hosting that game. Currently due to engine limitations we cannot yet show the status of the servers on our website. The servers will most likely remain online untill the beta test has ended and the full game will be released. By that time we hope to have the new dedicated server up and running.

My favourite this far is the Crag alien building just because it looks sooo wired! :D
That and the fact that it launches mini aliens to fend of marines :>
