argh, :S well ill try and fish out the link but some helpful so and so, has directions in facebook to turn off a SHIT load of stuff that you really dont want kept on. Also ways of limiting peoples access and facebooks. In general i dont post many photos because they are instantly owned by facebook as well as videos etc; in addition to alot of other restrictions. As i said, those who have facebook ill try and get the link.

I only use facebook to rant and perv on hot chicks... though the second one is really hard to do now :ugly:

I just googled myself and there's nothing interesting/negative whatsoever.

In the end it is yourself who reveals the majority of your privacy - you can turn off everything in facebook's settings.

People trying to take away our privacy is an extremely serious issue and we should do all we can to marginalise and mock these asshats before they are taken too seriously or gain any political ground.

That said, if you have a Facebook account and let all and sundry see everything about you then you are a bloody idiot and you get what you deserve.

Actually scrap the "and let all and sundry see everything about you" part of that sentence. :D

Also, on this subject, saw this trailer last night, looks like its gonna be a cool film, kind of like SuperSizeMe, but with a point (im pretty sure we know eating mcdonalds nonstop for 30 days isnt good - so what a waste of 1hr 30mins) but this film actually looks creepy and like a real life fugitive movie, plus its so relevant to the topic saint has brought up :)

Nono, we used Linked in to first find people, and then a search goes over it to see what kind of person it is (so pages such as facebook etc get searched).

Good point, i doubt LinkedIn will note whether or not they like to stalk girls on myspace, do gay porn, and or have previously been in national news running from the POlice! :D

What I always wondered is, how certain websites you visit (for example livestream.com) automatically detect my facebook profile even though I don't even have an account for that website?!
That kinda creeps me out.

um, yeah that stuff freaks me out, especially when its on porn sites etc, anna did direct me to a firefox plugin called no scripts that has been very helpful, but yeah, i think your facebook profile thing will only be detected if you are always logged in on that comp ... i tttink?

In short: Every connection has an IP address (Internet Protocoll), around that address massive databases are being build with *everything* they can possibly track from you. This way they can send out adverts directed at you etc. Everything on the net is mapped whenever you use large websites such as google, amazon, ebay etc etc etc.

Other way's are what the guys say above.

That looks a good trailer, I don't have any credit on my NZB....FTP? :18

Oh and Balls not sure if I told you but if you are worried about cookies I use CS Lite add-on that controls what websites can create cookies :mrgreen:
