So, I've been looking for a movie for quite some time now, but I cant remember the title. :|

All I've seen is the preview, so here the facts I know:
- Vietnam War, from the view of the soldiers
- in the preview one soldier fell of an aircraft carrier, and his mate was like "STOP THE CARRIERS etc etc" but since there are like 30 carriers behind them he is probably doomed to drown.
- later one of them gets either injured or is one of the the soldiers who raised the flag on Iwojima, therefore he gets send home, because he is a hero and has to sell war bonds
- As well as take part in an acting in a stadium, redoing the flagraising for audience
- I would guess that its not older than 2008

Cant remember more...

It's called 'Flags of Our Fathers' dawg. :5:

And I don't wanna be a fact whore or nothing, but it's actually set in the South Pacific, when the Americans were fighting the Japanese. So it was during WWII, not Vietnam. 8)

It also has a companion film called "Letters from Iwo Jima" from the perspective of the Japanese soldiers also directed by Clint Eastwood.

The Necromancer (4970)
I would say the "companion" situation is in reverse, since Letters from Iwo Jima is better. :-P

I think both movies have an interesting concept, but both weren't all that good.

An American director used Japanese actors and Japanese dialogue in a film produced for American release, less film more evolution in action maybe

lol i watched breakfast club again the other night (my favourite john hughes movie), and i just lost it at the part where he gives bender 2 months of detention, mainly because of the parody of that scene in "not another teen movie" which i was thinking about when watching that scene.

both films are fantastic. flags i found more interesting for the course of the film, but the ending of letters is just brilliant.
