Edit: Yes its enabled, but 1 pixel high 1 pixel wide isnt wide enough for a signature :P

Banners were removed from signatures a long time ago. It's because we like our mouse wheels, love our eyes and have little patience for bullshit, pretentious or not. Though I personally could live with 50x20 pics.

They're taken off hlstatsx so you'd have to validate your forum acount in TF2. Otherwise, I guess you could ask somebody to manually do you. That somebody being a teach-team member. :P

It's because there are no points! :D
Usually it's just a complex way to convey simple and little information by using loads of flashy images.
If there were no text in the signatures they would say less indeed, if anything.
Thus anything worth including in signatures can be represented in text, a much more streamlined and cleaner way to convey
the stats or whatever it's usually is :P

I'll answer the original question, there's no Graphic Design board on here because it would be pointless. Those of us who are interested in the field most likely already work or study in the field and will have preferred dedicated forums and communities to design where any discussion is likely to be of a higher calibre and not remind us endlessly of work when we look at our gaming community website.

Also graphical signatures are an abomination.
