maybe. 95% of everything is teasing, this is a relaxed and mature gaming community aimed at just having fun, minecrafters have two tendencies: 1 - to be painfully earnest and therefore prone to drama, 2 - to have a huge persecution complex. Not everyone mind but its a definite trend.

There's also the idea floating that SpA and Minecraft are two wholly distinct things, SpA community is made up of 3 or 4 games not everyone plays all of them and some only play one, all of these people are part of the community only the minecraft part has taken to isolating and insulating itself from the rest of SpA.

If we really disliked you we'd turn of the server nor would we invest so much time and effort into making it all work. Remember many of the people that keep MC running on SpA's servers have no interest in the game at all.

Exactly what cardboard said, and as I said in the minecraft picture face post thing, people need to take most things said on the forum with a grain of salt.

That is why I said people need to be more like pete, I don't mean adopt his (strange, yet lovable) sense of humour or in general anything he does, except for the fact that he has integrated (forced) his way into the non-minecraft forums.

I haven't interacted that much with any minecrafter. But given the replies to the derailed bann request thread I'd say you're a nice bunch with a sense of humour :)
It has little to do with what kind of games you play :p

I think cardboard summed it up pretty good. Then again I wouldn't know about the tendencies about personalities so I'll leave that out.
If there's one thing I would like to become better. It's this: Players that don't play different games only interact on the forums and IRC, since most of the time mumble seems to be
used for better communications in-game. By using the general general forums when posting non-game related stuff would help minecrafters to integrate more smoothly and cross the social gap.

Yeah - there are other sections and many of the things that (you) people post in the MC section are also covered in our other sections, so that's where you should start. ;-)

It's just that Minecraft wasn't integral to SpA for a while despite the servers being up - it was more of a hobby project for me, which somehow escalated. ;-)
Usually the games we host come from our very closed SpA circle and THEN become popular in the community - it was kinda the other way round with Minecraft, so the old guard doesn't quite accept the influx of "foreigners".

Perhaps we should have treated MC more seriously from the beginning with proper forums and such since otherwise the "Minecrafter" community has formed solely around the servers instead of our site i.e. the SpA community itself. I do think it will settle with time - there are people actively herding players to our site and while we are completely uninterested in the "Hi, I'm Tom, 12, and play Minecraft" kind of activity there is a fair share of cool MC people coming here - and some SpA members have trickled through to Minecraft just as some Minecrafters have gone the other way.

Dunno - it's all about accepting our forum reality. i.e. trolling is our daily bread and some people are taking it FAR too seriously. Others get trolled but adapt and then aren't trolled as much!

P.S. And yeah, some gals/guys just make HUGE targets out of themselves. ;-)

Yeah what Lim said makes sense, though I think things are gonna pan out real nice. Minecrafters are using the forums now, and are starting showing interest in the rest of SpA. I mean I've been lurking the other forums since I had an account, but I just didn't really know where to start with posting. Now that we've crawled out of our cave, and are seeing some familiar faces, we can mingle and tings.

And it is a massive amount of postings going on in the forum. As i am new to the TF2 part of SpA it already difficult to hold track of a few things or just getting an overview about everything. It's totally understandable for me that "minecrafters" first have the interest for mincraft things in the forum, like i have first interest in TF2 things that are going on. Totally normal i guess.

But the time will get maybe a few people to see interesting topics of the other game and take a look. Surely not everyone will, but some.
That will mix up the community doesnt matter what game everyone plays.

Oh! I need to see that... somehow. Any one wanna post some screens of it if they happen to swing by them? :)

Meh, I check the new topics and read them, when I have something to say, I post there, I commonly don't read the topics such as 'funny video thread', 'post some good music', or 'post your awesome frag movies', because I kinda... don't want to. But I think I'm here to stay, so after I'm done with MC (which won't be anytime soon anyways), I'll still be coming to the forums, and playing TF2 with you sometimes.
