I think 700 is just a bit too short.

I think you require around 1000 pound if you want a good propper (not an extreme one) rig, with a good and propper monitor.

If your willing to spend around that price, then we're prolly willing to go over every piece of hardware with you, and make sure you order the best of the best for your money,

Fuck fuck off - no one wants your steamy pile of poop

£700? Hmm... easy!

Bargain-Basement Blaster -
Motherboard – CPC Approved Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L – £47.59
CPU – Pentium Dual Core E2140 - £41.47
Memory –CPC Approved Corsair TwinX XMS2 - £38.35 (2 x 1GB)
CPU Cooling –CPC Approved Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - £12.80
GPU - 256MB XFX 8800GT PCI-E Scan Exclusive - £117.36

With the FSB clocked from 200MHz to 375MHz this baby will be running at 3GHz with air cooling placing it in the same league as the Core 2 Duo E6850.

Total so far £257.57

If you need more then try this little lot (as a typical example) –

Case & PSU - Antec Sonata 3 Super Black Mini Tower Case with 500W aPFC PSU - £76.95 Cool, quiet and a respectable power supply all-in-one Read a review
DVD/R - LG 18x GSA-H66NBAL DVD±R - £17.74
HDD - 250GB Samsung HD250HJ Spinpoint, SATA II - £41.40

Sub Total £136.09
Total Cost £393.66 (prices correct on 10/12/07)
All you need is an Operating System

--- OR ---

Prebuilt and OC'd etc for £850

-- OR --

If you can spend a wee bit more how about -
Intel Core 2 Q6600 G0
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
Asus P5K Premium WiFi AP
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 [PC2-6400 2x1Gb]
Asus EN8800GT 512Mb
Samsung Spinpoint 501LJ 500Gb HDD
Pioneer 212BK DVDRW
650W Enermax Infiniti
Antec Nine Hundred
Vista Home Premium

Microsoft Habu Mouse
Logitech G11 Keyboard
Samsung 206BW Monitor

All that comes to about £1060 and pence [~£814 without the monitor mouse and keyboard] + £36 for Logitech X530 5.1s

--- OR ---

Give Mute and me the £700 and you can have my old AMD 4600+, 2GB OCZ, skt 939, 2x 7600GT SLI, 200GB HDD, 120GB HDD and we'll fling in a mouse and keyboard of some kind and possibly even a 17" CRT :D

Could probably spec you up something for £700 with AMD but Intel is the true path atm
