I have to write a persuasive essay for my gifted class, about what I would do with 60 BILLION Dollars, if I were the Government (and had the ability to simply put the money wherever i wanted) Jesus Christ our country is fucked up. Anyways, here are the things we have to chose from.

-Reduce our debt (like 60billion dollars will help much)
-Triple federal funding for medical research
-A much larger troop surge in Afghanistan (this would raise spending in Afghanistan by 60%)
-A nation infrastructure program to repair and upgrade roads, bridges, mass transit, water systems and levees
-FREE COLLEGE including room and board for about half of all full-time students at both for and two year colleges
-a $500 tax cut for all households

Wow, um, im not sure how im going to write this essay yet, but i thought you all (being mostly from other countries and whatnot) would love to harrass America, and give your two-cents here! I actually want to hear what you all have to say about this, and if there are any actual Ideas about what to do with the money

Fund the emigration of its citizens to nicer countries (i.e. ANY other country ;-), fund their education and then nuke a big, big crater in the land itself.

Lose Weight.

Stop invading countries and destroying nature reserves to drill or secure crude; short life span, fossil fuels (fossil implies that it takes a really really long time to make).

Give your nation free health care.

Give back some of it to the Native Americans.

Well, to ACTUALLY answer it...
Fund education, especially high school since most drop outs occur there.
Stop fighting pointless wars
Less government spending and more backing up private businesses to stabilize the economy
Infrastructure (especially in rural areas and small towns)
CHANGE OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. TBH, the new Bill sucks. Fund the Health Care so we can actually do something to help
IE. Start researching cures to disease and new innovations of biochemistry and biomedical fields
Strengthen border control and immigration laws (without being pricks. Yes, I'm looking at you TSA)
Get better relationships with other nations. If a nuclear apocalypse does happen, we're screwed. (Fallout, anyone?)
Reduce the amount of money put into the development of large corporations

Now, those were my serious answers.

And yeah, having more troops in Afghanistan doesn't mean you put money in to helping the country. As usual, America comes raiding in for obvious other reasons, thousands of miles away from their country, to leave a chaotic gigantic fucking mess to be cleaned up by the ppl who actually do care!

P.S. I do know the government of the USA ain't the same as the country, that every person in that country is different and that generalising is dangerous and subjective. Ahhhh so many good ideas! On a serious note, education is key, AND jobs. We need jobs. Our unemployment rate is atrocious! But the general populous of america is fairly stupid >_> (bucky, generalizations are key when insulting America) I know, its a "good" country to live in, being fair, and clean and all, but we're fucked. We're going to owe countries untill the day the earth dies. Our debt is almost at 14 trillion dollars! yay! Bush fucked us up. He also (in my opinion) began the "invade other countries for no reason" fad we have going on.
