Game Notes
~~~~~~~~~~
From the makers of Far Cry, Crysis offers FPS fans the best-looking, most
highly-evolving gameplay, requiring the player to use adaptive tactics and
total customization of weapons and armor to survive in dynamic, hostile
environments including Zero-G. Earth, 2019. A team of US scientists makes a
frightening discovery on an island in the South China Sea. All contact with
the team is lost when the North Korean Government quickly seals off the area.
The United States responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta Force
Operators to recon the situation.
* A unique three-act structure forces the player to use real-time armor and
weapons customization to adapt constantly to an ever-changing world.
* Encounter a frightening and totally original alien species—they use their
senses intelligently and work together to present the most challenging
enemy yet in an FPS.
* Control of a variety of land, sea, and air vehicles including trucks,
tanks, boats, and helicopters.
* Explore a living, dynamic world where earthquakes, breaking ice,
landslides, and tornados pose an ever-present threat.
* 32-player multiplayer with real-time armor and weapons customization, plus
an all-new multiplayer mode that combines player modification and tactical
objectives.
* Emergent gameplay means that in-game actions affect future outcomes and
give each player a unique experience.
* Highly robust and easy-to-use mod toolset allows players to create their
own expansive levels for both multiplayer and single-player modes.
* The CryENGINE 2 engine delivers the most realistic environments,
spectacular special effects, physics game engine, lighting system, and
enemy Al.
I see a svf file there, its a file used by a program called QuickSFV, which verifies if all files etc are there (if i understand correctly from the website), perhaps that can help you.
http://www.warezfaq.com/fleas/qsfv234.exe.zip
You can also try to rename the .001 file to .rar, dno, could work perhaps...
Nerdish, tbh. (441)
just for the record, you dont need any .rar file. just unzip any of the .00# and it should work. u need to open up winrar first and find the file manually though (i know its an old topic :P)
He's absolutely spot on... Just use the file with the lowest number attached to it.
Hope you've upgraded already? ;)
Haha fucking n00bs, have none of you ever downloaded a scene release before?!?! :shock:
All of the .001 .002 etc. are RAR files, only with a number extension. They all link to the same compressed file, and you can start the extraction from any of the files. Right click and choose open with, then choose winrar and check it to always open with winrar. If you opened with .001, then other .001s will also open in WinRAR ;)
haha CS nerds who never played any other games :P
The Scene was never legal - Read the terms and conditions on every game released... Downloading pirate releases may not be illegal but having the pirate files on your PC is and playing them is, doesn't matter what country your in. The makers have all rights to their intellectual properties and that's exactly what the software is.
I'm afraid it's not that simple. I can't say 100% sure what is illegal and what isn't, but I know for certain that the terms and conditions statements on games are not VALID in every country, including Norway. Some of the things they require of the buyers, they are not allowed to by law, and so you can disregard that part of the statement. Copyright holders simply don't have complete control over their works. I have not looked into this, but pirated games may well have been legal in Norway until the ban on pirate downloading.
I understand what you mean, but the main reason people wouldn't get busted for that is that the inter-country laws are almost impossible to enforce, which is why China & Korea etc have such massive rates of piracy. It's still counted as theft, and that the developers/producers still own the material (it was governed by laws almost identical to the music industry), just that the Norwegian (in your case) government wouldn't work with the relevant owning countries laws against "offenders".
Personally I like the pirate scene, but for games and music I use it to "demo" the product and see if it's worth buying. Films, I VERY rarely buy something I have downloaded first...
