I came across this website, which apparently sells ex-military fighter jets and stuff. Rather unsurprisingly, it's usually the Russians that are selling them, so there seems to be a lot of MIG's for sale. Here's the blurb at the top.

Pretty humorous really, but it's the comment section that really had me scratching my head.

I am living in Ukraine and want to buy a L-29 0r L39 Albatross Jet or a MIG 21.

I plan to use it to transport myself around the Ukraine on business.

What price should I expect to pay. My wife is Ukrainian ans speaks fluet Russian so we can deal with the Goverment and/or Military directly.

Wow that was hilarious! Besides all the typos in every comment, the guy asking for money cracked me up! I don't know about you but selling military vehicles to anyone? Sounds a bit frightening to me, pretty hard to believe actually, but you never know these days. Nice find, McMoist!

It's not impossible to sell military aircraft - thing is, you usually sell it another military (with even older crap). It's not possible to sell them to a civil company though, because they maintain their aircraft with much tighter requirements (#1 requirement in civil aviation is safety, in military it's "just being ready for an operation"-ish) so they can't eg just buy a military transportation plane and use it the same way in civil. Same goes for private pilots obviously, you just won't get the required licenses etc. to fly legally - which doesn't matter if your country is fubar enough that noone checks it (I suppose Russia is)^^
