This topic is for talk about Eve Online (duh).

I am playing it, if you are on my friendlist you probably noticed :P. Anyhow I got 2 characters, Crovax Parianic is the one you can contact ingame if you also play the game and want to talk or ask questions. Bucky0h is Bucky's character and he thinks the game is perfect for him as a stoner.

If you are interested in playing Eve, let me just start by saying this game is not for everyone. Its not easy peasy WoW. It doesn't hold your had much and there is no level cap. Eve is described as boring by many people who tried it. This is very much true for people who want instant gratifications and don't want to be part of something bigger. Because Eve is something bigger! Its a galaxy where over 40k people are logged in on the same server. Yes no 2000 servers that divide the playerbase, but 1 big server where everyone plays on. And it fucking works as well! Wars are fought, goods produced, players scammed, pirates hunt the low security space. Its truly a game run by its players.

So if you feel like trying the game out you can download the 3 week trial on Steam. I warn you again, the game certainly won't appeal to a lot of people. But since its free to try 3 weeks, who knows? Perhaps you are one of those persons it does appeal to and you stick with it! The corp i am in would welcome you with open arms anyhow (yes we are desperate :ugly: ) and support you with anwsers to the myriad of questions that will rise in your mind, and will help you out in general.

bla bla bla, god I sound like some sort of fanboy. Anyhow just hit me up in Eve if you are playing or willing to go play it

I like it more than most mmo's, but i don't want to pay a monthly fee when it takes so long to train skills.

My 1 month sub is about to run out and considering I've never felt less engaged by a game I doubt I'll resub.
Endgame content seems decent but overall I could have more fun with a calculator.

How long do you have to play to reach a state where you can pay the monthly cost with the ingame money you earn?

Hmm well it really depends on the time you put in yourself. Once you can run level 4's by yourself or when you are in a hulk and got good refining, mining, production skills.

I am now playing for one and a half year, and could easily make that amount of money if I actually bothered. I made 25 million in twodays where I probably played a total of 8 hours or so... without selling any of the loot/minerals and I ran the missions in pairs so...

But one of our corp members does actually pay for his account with plexes. You pay about 300 million isk for a plex which gives you 30 days playtime. So you should be aiming at well over 10 million per day :p

I used to do mining for my PLEX'es. We were a few guys who did Mercoxit/Crockite mining up in Branch. Our ships were Hulks, that cost around 2Bil ISK including the mods. We earned around 1.5Bil ISK per day by mining and doing reactions at our two POS'es. This cash were usually divided four ways, so that means I earned 375Mil ISK per day we farmed (we only farmed during weekends). This means that two days of farming was enough to pay for the account (Around 50% of the cash I earned were spent on various expenses like POS fuel, battleships, carriers and jump-fuel).

Nope. NC didn't know about the exploit, nor would we have exploited it if we did.
