so i wanna buy a premium acc & saw the following offer:

59.70€ for 6.000 rapids including 1 year rapidpro & vip ..

so, does it mean that i can download for one year with my premium acc every day?
or does it expire as soon as mah rapids are at 0?

Good question. When i used to use it in the past you could download for the entire month (i had monthly subscriptions) but you where capped at something like 30GB.

Any reason why you would want a rapidshare account rather then for example a newsgroup account?

I used to use RS until it got so confusing. Now I use Hotfile which us just as fast and cheaper.

RS used to have to monopoly until they introduce their new charging structure. Now alot of uploaders have jumped ship to HF.

Or follow Saints advice.

I have been an RS subscriber for like 3 years now... I tell you, it became fucking useless. "Interesting" files are removed within an hour...
Sadly people have spread among shittons of other services - filesonic, depositfiles, hotfile... The Russian-owned ones seem to be popular since they don't care about piracy much. =)

Are "Rapids" downloads or some sort of currency they have come up with?

Fileserve is good for fast(ish) free downloading. Filesonic is good for uploaders I think but aren't as big as fileserve yet. Oron should be renamed to porn.

Hotfile seemed to be good when I used them.

Rapidshare is awful, if your rapids reach 0 you do have to buy more, so just ignore the account time. Also, no one uploads there anymore due to the shit system they implemented.

I also migrated from Rapidshare to Hotfile after they implemented their ass backwards system. Not to mention that, as Lim said, you can't find a fucking thing using Rapidshare.

I would recommend Hotfile tbh. It's pretty much how Rapidshare was, before it bombed.

I think newsgroups will be where everyone will eventually end up as I suspect the filesharing sites like Hotfile only have a limited lifespan.

Until then they work out a little cheaper, think I paid around £40 for a whole year.

This new internet generation is made up of nothing but fools.

Its just me and you Bucky, holding out as the last frontier men; we pass on our knowledge and survival techniques for the wasteland that is the web and the young'uns just ignore us but we've seen it, we've seen El Dorado and we know.
