For those that are into a big of hard rock with some very technically proficient instrumentalists, Mr. Big is a damn good band that recently reunited and released a new album. This is the first track off it.

Hope you like it, check out their myspace page if you want to hear more, seach for coloureds.

Saw these guys lay to waste Rage Against The Machine's "Wake Up" and "Killing in the Name of" after an unfavourable comparison in the local press, best cover of Rage I'd seen up until that choir. Positive hardcore and rap rock.. together.
Forgot to add the first time round: King Prawn , saw them on tour with these guys and One Minute Silence way back
bit more of a mix of stuff today, so I'll describe some stuff.
earthtone9 - this songs reminiscent of tool but earthtone9 came from a much more hardcore background so having them play this melodic was a delight.
A folk song from a band that got alienated by its own audiance for playing folk
And what they usually played, you might guess these guys were amazing live.
Japanese post rock, jazz, quartet one of the most talented bands performing today. In this video with an "Elephant"
I've been listening to this a lot recently or more accurately the album Moffou simply astounding, the remarkable Salif Keita.
In complete contrast, the epic extreme metal brilliance of Benea Reach. Underated and virtually unknown, god only knows why.
The enigmatic Nick Cave, Do you love me?
And some time collaborator, P.J. Harvey.
Noticed that the youtube version got VEVO'd to fuck so here have the full song This is love
Friends of Mine... Metal like mastodon, sung like Will Haven, the now defunct Mirrimar Disaster.
Lyrically perfect The Indelicates, this scene is the scene to be seen, not that the scene is what we'd be seen with.
haha I supported earthtone 9 at a gig in oxford, quality!

Sorry Whiskers, but I'm going to have to share these; I can't stop listening to them, they are too good not to share. So I am dedicating these to you for introducing them to me
Perfect tunes to wake up to on a Sunday morning
