Reasons being:

It's useful for announcing any updates, be it server updates, game updates etc.
People can follow and RT the tweets
Good way of getting feedback on any announcements
It can be synced up on to the homepage

Just another way to keep in touch and allow others to follow what is going on in the world of SpA :mrgreen:

Facebook is actually quite useful for organising events for certain groups of friends and the like, where-as twitter has no value. Towards spa having a twitter account I am indifferent, so no rants here ;)

Well I'll definitely follow spa on twitter. I made an account a couple of years back as a good way to advertise my work and stuff... never really have used it for that since getting it tbh but thats what I still think twitter is for- spam and advertising, and it works...

... plus the occasional stalking of celebrities

Yeah, it sucks if used for personal reasons but I think it's a good tool for announcing stuff - like we are using it apparently. You are outsourcing the engine instead of implementing one yourself and needlessly reinventing the wheel. ^^
