See that guy? He look familiar? Thats Commander Riker. His name is not Lewis, its William.

I made THIS skin:
Image
And went on patrol on our freebuild server. Thats not even the same color as Riker's. Its a Science officer's uniform, but you know what I got? I got some guest getting up in my face for copying Yogcast's Lewis's skin. We have tons of people running around skinned as Riker in all his bearded glory, thinking its just some guy from a youtube series.

So, I introduce operation BeardStorm. Whenever you see someone wearing the Yogcast skin, remind them the true origins of their avatar! I find that asking if they're startrek fans is a good starting place. Even better, a simple "Kirk or Picard?" will identify if they are in need of re-education.

I've never gone near Star Trek, but recognise the skin, kids these days eh?

When people see my skin they say "where'd you get that black eye Junco?" Got in a punch up with your mom, what am I suppose to say to that, it's a skin :ugly:

Image

So I'll take this oppertunity to say here's Alex Delarge, from Clockwork Orange, a class film, and book not suited for wimpys.

Image

See that? Fake eyelashes, he's not a pimp, or someone with a black eye, he's a bad motherfucker rapist.

The fools of today are in dire need of enlightenment.

I'm going to go ask Martok for a ride in the Neg'Var, I need to do some planetary bombardment and I like it when I've got an Ion Cannon ready.

Now that's a toughy, Kirk, being the original kicks arse. But I've always loved Captain Jean-Luc Picard. The Next Generation was and will always be my favourite Star Trek :26

@JuncoPartner: Clockwork Orange ROCKS! The book is pretty decent too.

I didnt know for ages that it was directed by Kubrick, but he did it when he was forced to remove it from circulation. One of those long, bit of downer, leave an interesting impression on your films  one of my favourites though.

Shame he passed away before he could produce A.I fucking Spielberg tookover, and somehow still managed to dirty it with his alien fetish, great film, but imagine how excellent it would have been if Kubrick finished it.

Just watched The Shining today, twice. Once normally and once with commentary by Garrett Brown (The Shining cameraman, inventor of the Steadicam) and John Baxter (author/ cinematographer, author of a Kubrick biography).
It's still an amazing film and doesn't seem to have aged at al. The commentary got me kind of interested in filming techniques and tricks directors use to make certain films look the way they do.
I can highly recommend getting the Kubrick DVD boxset by Warner Bros (I sound like a spambot but it's a way to make sure it's the good, official box).

It is an excellent film, and more so because of the conflict the viewer has to deal with, within themselves; i love films that do that, like devils rejects is a good one for what i mean.

Also, 2001 is epic. need i say more.

Its just ... Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

If you think its too long its probably because your precious bodily fluids are already contaminated!

Strangelove and Full Metal Jacket are favourite of Kubric's films,I still have trouble taking to Clockwork Orange and Lolita because the source material for both are masterpieces and the films feel pale in comparison. 2001 and The Shining are both cinematic brilliance and the films outshine the books as far as I'm concerned but neither mean as mush to me as Stangelove and FMJ.

Also slightly more on topic, I'll not be taking part in BeardStorm as I can't stand Star Trek.

Full Metal Jacket is the first of his films I saw, it is one of the best war films I have seen by far. The Pyle storyline is one that I will never forget, masterpiece!

That trick hadn't changed much even by the time I found myself in Buon Ma Thuot in 96.

I need to watch FMJ again.
