Anyone here played inFamous1&2?
No one i know personally has, so there's no one for me to rant to about this crazy game. Crazy but amazing that is.
Spoiler (DO NOT READ UNLESS COMPLETED inFamous 1)
If Kessler is Cole from the future(a future that will no longer exist, but thats besides the point) and Cole got his powers from the actions Kessler took in Coles timeline, then how did Kessler get his powers?
Spoiler (DO NOT READ UNLESS COMPLETED inFamous 2 - evil path)
Did anyone else have alot of trouble killing zeke? sure it was easy but i mean i sat there for a minute in disbeleif that the game actually intended on having me kill him.
Spoiler (DO NOT READ UNLESS COMPLETED inFamous 2 - good path)
I guess that selfless bastard got what was coming, but that lightning bolt at the end, anyone think it revived Cole for a 3rd game?
if there was a good game how do you guys think the storyline would go?
and how would they manage it? with the two extremely different endings in inFamous 2, it would be impossible to have a third that tied them together because so much was different. Maybe two completely different storylines? one continued for the evil path and good path?
Or perhaps the 3rd (assuming there will be a 3rd) will be about Kesslers timeline. I would sure like some more information on him. Anyone disagree?

Don't read this if you haven't played the games, there are a few spoilers.
-wall of text warning-
EDIT: GINORMOUS wall of text warning.
It was said during the first game that Kessler simply ACCELERATED the production of the Ray Sphere, and when it comes to Time there are always several different possibilities:
1. If I go back in time, my actions have ALREADY led to me going back in time now. That is to say, I could have been the one to cause 9/11 and blame it on Osama bin Laden, and the actions that resulted from that may have actually ALREADY been caused. This results in a paradox. It also suggests that Cole will, if he is actually Kessler, after inFamous 2 (chronologically speaking) have to travel back in time and that Time is tied directly to the fifth and sixth dimension(s). This means that Cole will be travelling back in time and becoming Kessler whether he likes it or not, and that the only thing that he will die in Empire City, by his own hand. Of course, we have to factor in that he might not actually be Kessler. This also means that the only thing that is set in stone is the known actions of Kessler and Cole indicated within these two games, and that there is absolutely nothing that says what happens after the alleged time travelling.
2. Time revolves around the seventh dimension (I think it's that one), resulting in several infinities' worth of timelines and possibilities governed by one's actions. Basically this means that if I go back in time, I am changing a different universe and existence altogether, and when I attempt to return back to my time I am simply fused with that particular universe's version of Me. This is the confusing type that inFamous throws out.
Also, since John was infiltrating the First Sons in Empire City regardless, it was quite possible that in Kessler's timeline he was at the center of the first Ray Sphere implosion as well, or that the creepy transient's leader (alden, was it?) or someone else among the first sons may have become the beast and not been able to control themselves, as opposed to stopping the plague.
There's a lot of room for discussion in terms of inFamous, particularly in the notion of time travel. I've only played it once through, and I've been evil the whole time. But if I don't go with Nix to get some new pets, does that mean that she'll also be evil? Sounds like there's a lot more possibilities and it makes me wish I kept more than one save file. Looks like a fun treebranch graph to follow!
There was also the fact that conduits emerged regardless of the use of the ray sphere, though in hugely lower amounts of potency. People in the First Sons were all about their telekinetic powers and abilities to bend spoons, though the thieving of life force from the surrounding people seemed to have greatly accelerated the effects and growth of power. Look at Alden, he was pretty damned powerful after those, what, 60 (or more?) years of exile. He sure as hell gave Cole a run for his money.
I found it pretty crap that I had to kill Nix and Zeke, particularly since I wanted to end with Nix (I fucking hate Cold Shoulder) and have a good shot in the fact for John. When I had to kill Zeke I just sat there and thought "Seriously? No! Fuck this! I want to be a good guy now. Give me that spheroid thingomajigo!" but oh well, evil and selfish to the end.
I don't think there'll be a third inFamous, unless it's about Kessler and his problems with the first Beast, and the NSA infiltrators.
I quite liked the expanding of the storyline though, it was so annoying in inFamous 1 to just hear that there was an enormous conspiracy that I couldn't quite get a full grasp on. It sounded too limited to hear only fragments of Cole (and Kessler) in their pasts, and what had occurred with them. My main issue with the second was that there was little or nothing about Kessler, and that I no longer had that superb red lightning with a black middle. That shit looked amazing.
My favourite part was easily running around in the storm, I just kept running around bombarding everyone I saw with some Hellfire Rockets and Cluster Grenades. More fun than anything else in the story. John's part was good and all, but it needed an infinite supply of electricity that quickly replenished, so you could just devastate absolutely everything you saw (evil, I'm talking about. I'm yet to complete the Good, so I haven't got any idea about that yet.)
I hated killing Nix, though. That just sucked.
I quite disliked the whole "IF KESSLER DIDN'T COME BACK THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED I WAS MY OWN CATALYST OH NO, AND LOOK, ALL OF THE COUNTRY HAS BEEN TOTALLY FUCKED UP", I mean come on, ravaging the entire east coast is ridiculous. I did like the map though, a definite kudos in that department. There was also the fact that every single little thing was caused by the Ray Sphere. It sounded as though it was a lot worse during Kessler's timeline.
And Kessler was a smart guy. Wouldn't he have at least TRIED to understand what the Beast was doing, done a little research before he tried fucking everything up? And I'm sure some of the Transients, red gang people (forgot what they were called) and the First Sons would have managed to escape from Empire City by the time it all happened, but whatever.
Also, how the fuck did Kessler learn Time Travel? It must've been years before he could do that, and the beast moved a lot faster than that period of time. I mean, come on, look at Cole's powers. They only REALLY advanced when he was exposed to a ginormous amount of electricity, e.g. enough to power a section of "Empire City" (Basically New York) or absorbed a section of a Ray Sphere Core (Blast Cores), and I'm guessing that with the devastation of that Beast that there wouldn't have been enough time to go anywhere, let alone a central power station providing for some of the larges cities in the world. I'm sure Empite and New Marais would've been the first places the Beast (or those like it) would have sprung up, and there'd've been the most devastation in those areas, so no chance of a blast core. There's also the fact that he knew nothing of said cores.
Or did he? It all really depends on his life, I guess. And there's no need for a chronological sequel to inFamous 2, all was said and done then anyway. World full of Conduits, or a world full of whatever happens at the end of the Good part.
This game leaves a lot open to speculation and interpretation, and is basically just fucking awesome. I have a lot more to say but I won't bother you by lengthening this wall of text, but rest assured it was all good, damn good.

About the talk with time being in the 7th dimension and such. We truly don't know yet how many dimensions there are, or if time is linked with one of them, or all of them. We simply have not gotten that far in science today. All we have at this time are theories.
You said that Cole is Kessler which is true, and that anything that happens in Cole's timeline happened in Kessler's because everything is linked like that. Kessler got his powers from the previous Kessler, just as Cole will eventually travel back in time to change things with the 'new Cole's' timeline.
Problem with that.
Kessler and his family watched as the whole world went to hell, and we know it was Trish that he married due to the picture shown at the end of Infamous one.
Cole never even had a chance to marry Trish because of Kessler killing her. Also, Cole is not sitting back and watching the world burn, [evill] hes the one burning the world. [good] hes kinda dead. Lol
p.s. those red guys are called Reapers.

lol, i hadn't finished the good part yet. Didn't realize he had died. But what I don't understand is, if there was a beast, is it John White, and if so, was he still in the First Sons with Alden and was he given such a huge rank? I mean, Kessler had such amazing predictions and I find it a bit hard to believe that a guy could just KNOW these things.
Personally, I'd find it believable that Kessler is the evil version of Cole, the one who destroyed the world and such, and then felt bad about it, went back in time and photoshop'd a photo, and decided to do his best to make Cole a good guy and to save the millions rather than the thousands.
Photoshoped a photo? Thats kinda absurd. Yes ofc he knew john not bc he was in that group but because he was the original beast in his timeline. You did not finish the good ending?! shit im so sorry
