Uhm well the topic name says everything :>.
Tho I like the valve maps most, there should be more custom maps added(for spapoints), to have a bit more variety.
Labor is is the only one (as I remember)ôo!wtf...
There are quite better custom maps out there.
For example "ctf_convoy"(http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/44236)...this is v1, but there is a v2, too(v2 is way better).
everyone who played UT2k4 will have a "deja vu" :P
__

a "custom-map-download" section, on the forums, would be cool, too. So the peeps on the forums don't have to download it ingame.

is there a way to make this dream come true? <3

btw: other maps would be cool, as well.

just be patient, there will be more maps added soon :)

ctf_convoy_v2 looks excellent on those screenshots, we'll have a closer look at that map.

Adding the maps to the forum would be easy, so maybe we'll do it. But since the source engine loads the maps through http from the webserver anyways, there should not be any speed difference, and I think it's more convenient for most people to just download it ingame.

About the only time ive left the SA servers was to play custom maps and ctf_convoy is one of the best, although it can get abit sniper heavy, its a nice map and would gladly spend points on it if it was available :)

Hi,

The maps were already on the server, but not in the cycle. We had to sort the maps being on the http mirror etc.

Maps are now added (see update note in spapoints topic, announcements).

Maps are compressed by 50% in size and hosted of an 100Mbit mirror which is being used for ingame downloads.

A download function on the forum would be good, cause u could download any map at any time.
IMO it's pretty annoying if you join a game and you have to download first of all the fucking map....
(that's the reason why I keep away from servers with custom maps and all those useless sounds :SS...).

We won't be offering the maps off the forum. If you want the maps pre-loaded, simply put the map name in google and get yourself a copy ;)

With the maps compressed it shouldn't take too long to download from ingame as it goes on your max connection speed.

Pretty useless (84)
Is it just me, or does anyone else get "hardware lag" when playing on ctf_convoy?

Can you describe this in more detail? There is some kind of 'bobbing' on the map because the truck is moving.
