We've traced down the sound quality issues (crackling sound) down to the useage of 64bit windows XP. Possibly Vista is effected by this too.

We're creating a bug report to get this issue fixed.

well, in win 32 bit it's there too, but way less. So my bet is that it's an overall issue too, next to the fact 64 bit users encounter it more.

The audio problem seems to be driver related issue(And most likely specificly for users with 4GB ram or greater).

Creative users can download a new beta driver for their card;

right, my mic is screwed, maybe its an outdated driver.
and at the lan, 2/4 of these creative fathal1ty headsets had broken mics

The issue is not by default an issue for any x64 + 4gb user. It only seems to apply to some users.
