It's kind of a small thing and I hope it post it into the right subforum, but:

It's annoying as hell that a link opens in the same window. A litte "target="_blank" would make surfing here much more easy I guess.

Pretty useless (62)
Nah, use the mouse wheel or set up firefox to open links in a new tab only...

Using middle-click to open the links in a new tab or shift+click to open them in a new window would probably help as well. ^^

Both Firefox and IE share the same shortcuts nowadays... AFAIK Opera behaves a bit differently but has tabbed browsing as well, obviously.

I kinda don't like when sites FORCE links to be opened in new "somethings" (especially Windows, tabs for the win) - I prefer to have control over that behavior...

:-P

Fixed... However, I encourage everybody to try out the previous version of the shortcut as well. ;-)

Especially if your workplace looks like this:

(I know that image is old)

I'm always taken away from the page and than closing it, only to realize it opened in the same window. :(
I usually use tabs, but not in Forums, because normally they open in a new (Browser preference)

What browser are you using? If Firefox is your answer then there are numerous plugins to handle tab and link opening behavior even on a per-site basis...

Nah, it's not that much of a trouble that I will install an addon just for this site. I will just have to get used to using the middle mousebutton

in opera there is "trash" that contains all blocked popups and closed windows, so when you accidentally close some tab just hit ctrl-alt-z and it's back

isn't there some addon like this for firefox?

FF3 has this in the built-in history and there's an addon for a one-button-restore-mah-last-closed-tab-feature. :)

Actually FF 3.0 supports "unclosing" tabs by default. Just right-click on any tab and choose "undo close tab". ^^
