Tidbits/Rumors
-New gametype being worked on for Heavy update. Will change TF2 forever. Reason why update is delayed. May end up releasing in September.
-Heavy unlocks solid. Clue words given are "popeye" and "ghostbusters". BEGIN SPECULATION.
-Patch has alot of stuff in it. People requesting to split it up so we get something soon.
-No Meet the Vid or word on the next one. Smaller piece of media that was announced earlier is a mystery so far.
-Apparently one of the testers for the game blabbed about the features and now its spreading around. MUST GET INFO NOW!
-Rumor that update will cost money (This is probably the most erroneous piece of info on the list)
-Rumor is that popeye/ghostbusters is some kind of weapon affecting the actual heavy model. Again, just a rumor.

Again, this is all rumor. I'll update if my internet sleuthing comes across this supposed leak. Anyone else know anything about this feel free to post.

Edit: Decided to bold all the times I mention that this is a rumor, for those who feel it is your goal to prove someone wrong on Steam Powered Forums.

"Update: New Details.

According to the SA thread, the Heavy unlocks are done. Now some are saying that this stuff should be disregarded as a member got banned for false info. The member that was fakeposting only provided info on the "popeye" clue word and that TF2 updates would cost money. So some of this still applies.

Apparently, the new gamemode is holding things up but Valve could release the unlocks now. Also, according to some playtesters, the weapons are "1 upgrade, and 2 sidegrades (one a gimmick)". Rumor has it one of the weapons will make Scouts worthless.

Anyone got the inside scoop on these rumored weapons yet?"

Lemme just say that I HATE speculations. Being excited about something? Be my guest. Spreading rumors/bullshit about something before it is released - no, no, no... It's just like people claiming that a given game will be crappy or awesome. It's especially funny if I read such comments AFTER I already got to play a review version. ;-)

heavy-popeye that might be true but ghostbuster?????? We all know medic looks like a ghostbuster (Maybe an unlockable that makes heavies see spies propably? ) .

Maybe they added a bit of stopping power to the new unlock. I was thinking about it the other day how it's weird that a frickafrackin minigun doesn't really slow people down much at all.
Popeye sounds like something to do with spinach, which subsequently makes me believe you'll get a stronger punch one way or another... Either that or you can summon Olive.

We've been a little quiet for the last week as we've put the finishing touches on the Heavy update. We thought the Pyro pack was the biggest we'd be doing for a while, due to the large changes to the Pyro, but the Heavy update has turned out to be even bigger. In addition to the three unlockable weapons and thirty-five achievements for the Heavy, we've got a new game mode with five new maps for it, a new Payload map focusing on more open spaces than Goldrush, and another popular community-made map. Throughout the rest of the week we'll be giving you the details on all this, and if all goes well, you'll have your hands on it shortly afterwards.

The community-made map included in the Heavy update is cp_steel, by Jamie 'Fishbus' Manson. After the Pyro update we received a lot of email telling us how wrong we were in our choices, and cp_steel was an easy next choice due to the way it dominated the suggestions. If you're firing up your email right now to tell us that we never get anything right, please include suggestions of what map(s) we should be looking at next.

We'll be updating A Heavy Update site with more info daily. Stay tuned!

The rollout culminates next Tuesday, August 19 when the update will be made available to all owners of Team Fortress 2.

To give all gamers a chance to check out the new gameplay introduced in "The Heavy" update, Valve will be running a Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend via Steam, a leading online platform for the delivery and management of PC games. The Free Weekend is open to gamers the world over and scheduled to begin Friday, August 22 at 11 am PDT.

Whoopee fuckin' do on everything! Fishbus is great. His newest project, cp_freight_b3, drew a lot of people to the custom map server today as well.

I wasn't a big fan of this map...too complex for what I think TF2 is about...much preferred Fastlane and Labor..but I suppose Im willing to give it another try :|

I think someone at valve , maybe gabe maybe robin , maybe someone else got drunk and added this s****d map , i think is the most ugly map ever made !
